This is a solid story, with great characters. And yet what keeps bringing me back to it is the amount of bullshit I call on the ending. Because I'm sorry but what do you mean the kids were given millions and allowed to go about their lifes without issue ? How ?
I can buy the government treating a bunch of kids as cannon fodder to what is essentially a god hell-bent on destroying the planet (as far as they know) to buy themselves time. I can't, however, buy that after accidentally training 28 baby assassins to a point where they could fight against seasoned professionals and agencies and win, they would just allow them to go free. Those kids are at the very least on a watch list for the rest of their lives with mandatory therapy. Or just outright drafted into the military/intelligence work pronto. For crying outloud they go murdery at the word "kill" like sleeper agents. And there were no repercussions for this ? No second thoughts ? We'll just release them into the world, it's fine ?
Not to mention, they were exposed to the press as the "hostages" that Koro-sensei had been keeping for an entire school year, their pictures were taken. And yet, nothing ? Their parents had no opinions on this? The rest of their school ? Any future partner or employer ?
I don't want them to not have their dream lifes, but the fact that they did without issue drives me insane. We're missing an epilogue arc that I desperately need. I need answers !
