if anyone has any sources for the mods used in MCD and Diaries Rebirth, alongside any additional information in regards to how it was produced; i.e. what programs they use for 3d models, animation, discussion on who crafted what sets, where stuff was sourced from, livestreams, e.c.t.. any and all of it would be great!!

I can say "I think solas is fundamentally a good person" but that's a sorta ridiculous statement considering what he does...

but what he does, while cold, calculating, brutal, exacting... it strikes me as smth closer to surgery than cruelty

which is why I can't really see the "he's a bad man he's a bad person he's a racist piece of shit with a superiority complex and that's why we love him 🥰" angle. no judgement: if it works for you, if you like it, if it's what you see, i'm not saying you're wrong or trying to convince you otherwise. i just can't see it

it's not just that he's sympathetic - although he is - it's that we see his precise reasons. there are many of them! some selfish, some selfless. and you can absolutely argue that a person doing bad things with good intentions is still bad and that's fair and fine

but it brings me back to the surgery comparison

surgeons have to do horrible things to ppl, things that outside of their specific context would be undeniably considered torture, but they are instead working to save lives

solas is a surgeon for the world

one can argue whether it is necessary or not, important or not, worthy or not, valid or not, but in terms of what is driving him, the reasoning behind his actions, i think there is much to consider about what it says of his personal moral character

i don't see many ppl talking about the end result of 1) solas failing, and 2) rook & co. failing/not having existed/not being powerful enough to take down two elven "gods" and their dragon thralls

or if solas was passive, if he sat back and let things happen, if he indulged in the life he wanted and wants to live...

so, yes. i see solas as a surgeon. he is doing horrible things. and he does have good cause. his reasoning is not irrational or unrealistic; the consequences he foresees and fears are very, very real. his biggest failing is not in perception or execution, it's in his constantly-reinforced belief that he has to do this alone, that no one else will stay the course, and that there is no alternative/no reasonable alternative

it is brutal. it takes everything from a person. it renders them unrecognizable to themselves. more monstrous with each step. it is a burden. it is a responsibility. it is the dinan'shiral. "there is only death on this journey."

everyone else denied it. or failed it. or rejected it. or fought it

To the people that have watched “Turning Red” and accuse it of being gross and perverted out of all things because it talked about periods, I‘ll patiently wait for the day you develop critical thinking

To the parents that have watched “Turning Red” and legitimately whine about the fact that they had to sit down and explain to their confused sons what periods were, I’m sorry that you couldn’t bother teaching your child a very basic biological phenomenon that 3,9 billion people sharing the same planet as him have to go through

To the people who have watched ”Turning Red” and dislike the film purely because they can’t relate to it, I pity you and genuinely hope that the day where you approach media with nuance comes to you soon

*To the people who have watched “Turning Red” and claim it represents the act of disobeying your parents in a positive light and that this was the message of the movie, I fear that this animated film that contains a girl transforming into a giant fluffy red panda might be a little too complex for you
