so today i decided to start a new hardcore minecraft world (well, i decided yesterday), because that Totally Isn’t Oversaturated Thanks To YouTube. i also wanted to post it here instead of there because it doesn’t mean i have to write a script or anything i can just tell you what i did. i can also link most of the stuff i’m using.
in the second image you can see i disabled chat pretty much entirely because Fuck NameMC, even if this isn’t going to reach a lot of people i at least want to keep some of my privacy, you get me?
this was all done on fabric 1.18 with optifine, optifabric, xaeros’ minimap mod, a voice chat mod for a server i’m in, so i hid the icons later in the screencaps. the texture pack used is developer art classic and its addon, devart+. this world was generated with betagen.
so i loaded up the world and was greeted by a pretty cool spawn, if nothing else. there wasn’t any sea plants or kelp to greet me, though, which is going to be an issue for when i want to find an ocean.
i did also set sail a bit to try and find a good place to set up shop, but i didn’t find one just yet. i’m going to commit to this world and it might take a while before i actually find a good spot, i’m not in a rush to beat the ender dragon or anything, i don’t even have food yet.
i wandered around a bunch, gathering resources and also learning that this datapack lets you mine raw ores like you have for the past 11 years of minecraft iterations. out of curiosity, i wanted to see if you could get multiple copper ore per block mined, and you can, which means i might be able to do the same to regular ore with fortune later down the line. not much to say other than there was no food in sight and i kept exploring.
eventually it was getting to night and i am still amazed by how good the sunset looks in builder’s QoL, it’s just incredible. anyway, i decided to do things the old-fashioned way, as it was too late to build a temporary house out of dirt or something similar.
and i DO mean the old-fashioned way, look at this, the classic hole in the side of a mountain with 2 dirt blocks preventing me from dying to most things (except spiders and baby zombies).
during the night i crafted a shield with the iron i had, and decided to tempt fate by fighting a zombie. i later had a run-in with a baby zombie, and then during sunrise a run-in with one holding an iron sword. running around at 2 hearts was not my smartest idea during the daytime, i will admit.
unfortunately i don’t have any screenshots from after this point, but it pretty much concluded my first day in the new world. after this i did some aimless exploring, but still haven’t found anywhere to call home.
it does, however, conclude the first day of my new world. i can’t promise anything but i can at least promise not having an excessive screenshot-to-day ratio of like, i think 7? yeah i’m going to cut way down on that
