Skepticism is fair. I had plenty. But trying SweetDream costs you an evening and might surprise you the way it surprised me. Building a companion is fun, and the first real conversation does most of the convincing.

The topic for this first chat is long-distance relationships. I think I am going to keep this first chat open for a few hours so you guys can join in whenever you are free. I understand people have work, school, dinner, gym time, etc.! I’m thinking I’ll close the chat for the night around 8pm, but we’ll see what kind of participation we have going on. Since this is the first chat, it’s going to be a trial and error process, so please bear with us and be understanding of any issues we may encounter!

The first chat is going to be held tonight! I am thinking I’ll open the chat room around 5pm PST. I’ll probably keep this first one open for a few hours so you guys can join in whenever you are free. I understand people have work, school, dinner, gym time, etc.! If no one joins the chat room by 5:05pm, I will close the chat room and reopen it at 5:30pm. I will do this every half hour as needed, so if no one joins the 5:30pm time slot by 5:35pm, I will close the chat and reopen it at 6pm, and so on. I’m thinking I’ll close the chat for the night around 8pm, but we’ll see what kind of participation we have going on. I am thinking of hosting the first chat this Wednesday (May 13) or Thursday (May 14). I would really appreciate any suggestions for days and times (e.g. morning, afternoon, or evening)! If you’d like to suggest a time, please let me know what time zone you’re in. These chats are for you -- to help you, support you, guide you, etc. Your input and suggestions are vital to the success of these chats! We need to know what you guys want and when you want it so we can provide that for you. :) Here is the original post about the chats.

We would like to start offering either weekly or monthly chats, but first we need some information from you guys!

About the chats:

We would create a chat room that would be free to join. There will be a topic or two for the duration of each chat, which will change either each week or each month, depending on how often we hold the chats. Each chat will last for a reasonable length of time (probably an hour) to ensure that everyone can ask questions, offer advice and support, etc. If there is any remaining time towards the end of the chat, we could have an “open forum” where you guys can ask/share whatever issue/news you have that may be unrelated to the topic(s). Ideally we would like to chat about topics related to military relationships. Some broad examples may be: marriage, long-distance relationships, deployment, finances, etc.

Before this happens, we need to know…

Is this something you guys would be interested in?

If so, what day(s) and time(s) would work best with your schedule? (Think about when during the week/day you spend the most time browsing Tumblr, Pinterest, etc.)
