I thought my SO would only be gone this weekend but it looks like the mission got extended to an entire week. I'm so not looking forward to the next 7 days. It's not as if I'm not use to him having to be gone over an extended period of time, that's Army life in general, it just stinks that it's happening when I can barely function on my own with a LO to tend to thanks to this damn flu. Welp, it cannot be helped. I guess the Christmas photoshoot for Jesse will have to be postponed because I'm not going out alone towards the end of the day (we wanted that sunset lighting) anywhere in this city. I don't have a death wish, c'mon now. Ugh. I was super excited to use my camera too. Looks like we'll be indoors with Daniel Tiger, presents that need to be wrapped, lots of soup, and Mr. Ruger here to keep us company in case some shady mfer wants to try and pull something sly. I guess I could also catch up on my kdramas? Hnm. We'll see. I know the baby's closet needs to be cleaned out and his 6 month with a few 6-9 month clothes need to be packed and stored away.

Change of plans! It looks like my love will be heading to North Carolina (at least the weather will be nicer and the air, cleaner) for BLC at a later date. Even though he'll be gone longer than the original 3 weeks I honestly prefer it because this means we'll both be going for our littles 2 month shots appointment AND we can do our early Christmas shopping together plus there he will have the weekends off. We would have had an extra grand to spend on our son and loved ones but my in-laws are in a financial bind with their moving expenses and family comes first.

Anyone else always too excited to wait and give their SO their present(s) on Christmas day? My husband and I have failed just about every year since we’ve been together, always opening our gifts to one another on Christmas eve. This year, however, we have come closer to succeeding! He sounds so stoked to give me mine and keeps hinting that we should open our gifts at midnight, no sir! Once and for all I am going to give him a dose of what it feels like to wake up on Christmas morning and open presents. His family has never really celebrated the holidays, not the right way anyway (YEAH– there’s a way to do it right), whereas mine always has. The only thing I’m allowing him is to munch on the sweets I’m baking for Dear ole’ Santie “Paws”– *hint, hint* I’m Mrs. Santie Paws. 🍪🐶🎄🎁 Oh gosh…. that sounded dirty. No sexual puns intended, I’m baking brownies and cookies. Since our LO isn’t here yet, rather than say Santa Clause, we have Santa Paws for our doggie. 😜

Today was the first official day of our "Marriage Retreat". Want to know how we spent it? My love was relieved from work at 1 o'clock, by 1:30 we were at the hotel where he secured our room, by 2 o'clock we were home. Why home? The hotel isn't pet friendly so despite having our room locked in we have decided that we'll only spend one of the 2 nights in the hotel. That doesn't bother me at all because I would hate to leave our Remington alone longer than we have to. Anyway-- we got home, relaxed a little, and proceeded to take an "hour nap", 3 hours later we both woke up and cancelled our plans to meet a few friends at the hotel to play Cards Against Humanity. Tomorrow (today actually) we plan to be there by brunch so we can eat and then attend the afternoon activities. More than likely an hour or so before dinner call we'll head back home to take care of our boy.
