I fear Zed is a gentle giant. He'd be scared of hurting you especially because of how he's been treated his whole life. Sometimes he's not only scared he's gonna hurt you but that if he does he'd finally have to see himself as what everyone else sees him as, a monster.

Rewatching Prom Pact for the first time since it came out and this is really a great movie. Like one of the best teen rom-coms we’ve gotten in decades. The script is so strong, cast is fantastic, honors the genre while deconstructing what didn’t work back in the day.
It’s really just very good. And not “DCOM good.” It’s just a good movie.
