The gym is loud.
Really loud.
Music blares through the speakers as Seabrook's cheerleaders take their places on the court, pom-poms sparkling beneath the bright lights.
Wyatt stands off to the side with the rest of the werewolves, but he's barely paying attention to the game.
Because you're out there.
You jump, spin, and land perfectly with the rest of your team, a huge smile on your face as you cheer for Seabrook.
Wyatt can't help but smile.
You're beautiful.
Not that he didn't already know that.
But seeing you like this—confident, happy, completely in your element—makes something warm bloom in his chest.
"You're staring," Willa teases beside him.
Wyatt doesn't even look at her.
"Am not."
"You've been staring at her for ten minutes."
"Okay, maybe I am."
Willa rolls her eyes.
"You're hopeless."
Wyatt grins.
"Yeah."
The final whistle blows.
The gym erupts into cheers as the pep rally comes to an end.
Wyatt waits near the doors, hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket.
The second you spot him, your face lights up.
You jog over, still holding your pom-poms.
"Hey!"
"Hey."
You smile.
"Did you watch?"
"Yeah."
"Was I okay?"
Wyatt stares at you like you've just asked the most ridiculous question imaginable.
"Okay?"
You laugh.
"What?"
"You were amazing."
His voice is so sincere that your smile softens.
"Really?"
"Really."
He steps closer.
"I don't know how you do that."
"Do what?"
"Get out there in front of everyone and just..." He gestures vaguely. "Shine."
You blush.
"Wyatt."
"I'm serious."
He reaches over and gently takes one of your pom-poms from your hand.
"You were so confident. And happy."
He smiles.
"I was really proud of you."
Your heart melts.
"You were?"
"Of course."
He gives you a little grin.
"I'm always proud of you."
You lean into him, wrapping your arms around his waist.
He immediately hugs you back, resting his chin lightly on top of your head.
"You know," you mumble, "I was kind of nervous before we went out."
"Really?"
"Mhm."
Wyatt pulls back just enough to look at you.
"You couldn't tell."
"Good."
He laughs softly.
"You were perfect."
You smile.
"You're biased."
"Definitely."
He presses a quick kiss to your forehead.
"But I'm also right."
You giggle, hiding your face against his chest.
Wyatt smiles down at you.
The gym is still buzzing around you.
People are laughing.
Music is playing.
Everyone is getting ready to head home.
But Wyatt barely notices any of it.
Because right now, all he can see is you.
His beautiful, amazing, completely human cheerleader.
And he thinks he's the luckiest werewolf in Seabrook.

I think about the fact that 2 kids movies with NB characters came out at around the same time and while 1 was said to have good rep the other wasn’t. The movies were the live action Momster High movie and Zombies 3. The only difference between their NB characters are that one tells people that they use they/them pronouns and the other doesn’t. That’s it, that’s the ONLY diffrence. (I mean one’s a reanimated corpse and the other an alien but gender wise I mean) and to this day I do not know what makes Frankie specifically say how they use they/them pronouns bad rep but A-spen from zombies not mentioning it once good rep, I am NB and I don’t get it
I’ve especially been thinking about this more because of the tadc finale and there being so many people saying how Jax isn’t good trans rep yet she was literally written by a trans woman, if a trans woman isn’t writing good trans woman rep then idfk who can
Maybe in the eyes of cis people, not talking about being trans is good and talking about it is bad
