I know a vast majority of  The Originals fans hate Season 5 for one reason or another. If I had creative control over the last episode or 2 of The Originals Season 4 and over season 5 I would make a few changes.

I would first change the ending of Season 4. Instead of placing the Hollow in the siblings I would have had Klaus contact Caroline to have the twins trap the Hollow in a Prison world. Instead of using Bennett Blood they use Hopes blood to bond the spell. This would have done two things. First it would have reconnected Klaus and Caroline and second introduce Hope to the twins. 

While the Hollow posses Hope it ends up killing someone and triggering Hopes werewolf gene rather than waiting to season 5. 

I still would have had Elijah leave NO simply to have him find himself outside of Klaus. The rest of the siblings I would have had stay in NO. 

Season 5 I would have made 26 episodes instead of 13 and would have split into 4 different stories following a different Original Sibling. 

Klaus Story:

Revolves around him, Hope, and Hayley along with the werewolves fraction of NO. A father and daughter bond. Klaus wanting to create more hybrids to face off against Marcel new Beast vampire army. Hope growing up an dealing with the prejudice Witches have against Werewolves and Werewolves against witches and Hope getting the short end of each. At this point Hope would be 14-15 years old. 

Rebecka’s Story:

Revolves around Her and marcel dealing with the new vampire order of NO. Deal of the issue of feminism and toxic masculinity. Rebecka leading a Vampire revolution against Marcel Vampires. Marcel Vampires suppressing the old vampires believing they are better. 

Kol’s Story:

Revolves around him and Davina trying to start their own coven of witches. Dealing with the Ancestors and ancestral witches. Trying to persuade young witches to get out of under the elders control and practice some wild and new magic. 

Elijah’s Story:

Kol: “Could you hold this, darling?”

Kinzley: “Hold what? Your hand?”

I looked how you danced with all the other village girls, but never once you looked my way. We were friends since four years old, and yet you were ignoring me. I felt hurt. You always were kind and caring, and it seemed like I didn’t mattered anymore. I felt useless.

I looked at you and your brothers. You didn’t changed a bit. You still were the asshole I left behind.

It’s funny how the tables turn I’m sitting back baby, watching you burn No regrets, it’s a lesson learned Cause what you think ain’t my concern

You constantly were showing up at my door and begging for my help. But I made you feel like I did back in our human lives. You were miserable ignored by me. And I felt good. I felt powerful.

About the time that I let you know My right and I assume control You blew it baby years ago Can’t get with me, now I’m grown

I looked how you faced one of your many enemies. It was entertaining. You were obviously losing, but I wasn’t about to help. I was dead because of you. I was changed because of you. I became a monster because of you. And now? You were going to pay for all those years of my pain.
