Character: Kol Mikealson, Original Vampire

Summary: Request! Kol turns you into a vampire so that you become part of his sire line and your siblings cannot kill him. Not without killing you too. But maybe being a vampire isn't so bad, not if you have someone to share it with

Warnings: Death, blood drinking and sharing, swearing, kissing.

“Shh! She’s awake?”

My face scrunched up into a ball as I looked at the lights above my head in a room I didn’t recognise. My neck felt stiff as I turned my head in the direction of the voice.

It was familiar but I never expected the Mikaelson siblings to be standing around the bed I lay in the middle of, rather than my own. The silk sheets were pulled up to my collar bone and tucked over neatly under my chin, and all their eyes were on mine.

“Wh- where are my siblings?” I stuttered feeling the panic spread through me now, all the way to the end of each finger and toe. “What’s going on!” I threw my body up disturbing the once neatness of the sheets. They looked around at each other as if they weren’t sure who should speak first, or maybe which question to ask.

“Why have you people dragged me into whatever fray you have with my sister’s boyfriends” I bellowed, my feet shifted up so I was sat in a ball now, with a large frown painted across my face. “She truly does not remember” Ejiah stated, to answer his families confusion, but not my own.

“You’re such an idiot” Rebekah whacked Kol around the head and his hands flew up to rub it better as he tutted. “I didn’t think you’d all make such a big deal out of it” he scoffed rolling his dark brown eyes. He was the one I was holding eye contact with now, he looked a little more guilty than the others, but they all looked way more sympathetic.

“Can you please just tell me what’s going on” I asked looking at Kol, this time my voice was much softer and more vulnerable. I was honest with how I was feeling. I was scared. “I’m sorry Y/n, me and my family never wanted to get you involved, but my dumb brother doesn’t always listen” Rebekah sighed walking round to the side of the bed and taking a seat.

I felt the bed dip and I looked towards her slowly. “Don’t act like this wasn’t the only way” he snapped at her taking his eyes off me. “After stop pretending like it was” Klaus pointed at his brother with a frown. “She’s been nothing but kind to us, she stays away from the Salvatores, and the rest of our enemies” Elijah continued for Klaus. “So you’d have rather me and Finn died” he slimmed his eyes on his older brother.

“They still have plans to kill me brother you only helped yourself by having her in your sire line” Finn rolled his eyes at his brother. But my ears were still ringing.

‘Sire line’? Surely he didn’t mean what Elena was explaining on the phone to me the other day during my repotting and gardening. I was listening but my phone was too far away to hear if I was trotting about. But i remember her saying that she thought her, Caroline, Damon and Stefan were all part of klaus’s sire line. And what was the common denominator here.

Vampires.

“What have you done” I instantly clutched my throat and all I pull feel was a dire need to flood my body with fluids of a sort. My face fell white as the realisation started sinking in. “Finn!” Elijah rolled his eyes squeezing his hands together. “Both of them!” Klaus snapped, his eyes darkened on Finn and Kol.

Watching the unstable drama of the Mikealson’s in first person was exactly how Elena explained it on the phone when I was driving home, from work. “This is your mess, and your compulsion, everyone out, she’s Kol’s responsibility now” Klaus stated. The room fell silent but Kol’s face was bubbling with anger. Finn was the first to leave, he didn’t say anything, and stormed out on his left leg.

“How is that fair? I’m not her father” Kol threw his arms around like a toddler. “No, you’re now her mentor” klaus smiled making his way round the bed. “Come on sister” he put his hand out to Rebekah who looked unsure. “Klaus you can’t possibly believe he’s going to help her” she exclaimed shaking her blonde hair in his direction. “Oh I’m sure he will” Klaus nodded once and continued exhibiting his famous smirk.

She takes his hand hesitantly and gives me a look as if to say sorry as she walks out. Elijah however stopped at the door. “Remove her compulsion, remember she’s new, help her” he warned Kol with an eyebrow raise. His eyes rolled and Elijah closed the door leaving me and Kol in a pool of silence. He shyly looked up at me from the end of the bed and then slowly made his way round to sit next to me, where Rebekah had once been.

“Do you want to remember?” He asked slowly, finding my eyes eventually. “I- am I- what am I?” “Transitioning” he stated very quickly. And my heart sank very fast. “So- I have a choice” I squeezed out in a small voice. “I mean? Not really, turn or die? That’s not much of a choice” “and was it you who took that away from me” I bit back. lol closed his mouth falling silent. He looked ashamed, a look I’ve not seen on his face before this incident. “Yes” he replied softly.

“Yes i want to remember Kol” i snapped at him and he nodded his head understanding why. “Okay- then remember” he told me, his pupils widened and a rush flew through my head.

“Kol what have you done!” Jeremy yelled looking around at the dead vampires on the floor. “Sorry mate, can’t have you completing that map now can I?” Kol raised his eyebrow. “You’re really starting to get on my nerves” Damon rolled his eyes towards the original. “Well, you’ll love this then, I have another surprise” he smiled evilly. “Are you going to stop trying to raise Silas and stop your plots on killing me and my siblings?” He asked the group. There was silence for a second. “I will never stop looking for the cure” Stefan stated. "That was the wrong choice" Kol shook his head and stalked towards a cleaning cupboard in the corner. He widened the door and yanked me up by my arm. My hands were tied together with a ziplock and there was duck tape stuck over my mouth. "Y/n!" Elena screamed out tearing up instantly. "What are you doing?" Damon took a step closer. "stay right there mate" Kol warned him "Damon- stop" Jeramy yelled in desperation. He stopped in his tracks, his hands bawling up. "Thank you, now we can get started huh" Kol smiled, he wrapped his hands around my neck and head and with one twist everything fell black. "Nooo!" Elena cried out, it echoed through the room and Stefan wrapped his arms round her to steady her. "It's okay dear Elena, she'll come back" Kol laid my body down onto the floor gently. "But she'll return within my sire line, so now, i'd think twice about trying to kill me" he twinkled at the group who were full of tears and rage.

My eyes blinked me back into reality once again. I scowled at Kol and looked away blinking the pools of water away. I didn't want to cry in front of him. But I was so angry. "It was selfish... I was only thinking about myself, which was contradictory because I killed you to deter your family from killing me" he stated in a low voice. "Now what?" I sobbed still unable to look at the original.

"Now you ingest human blood, to become a vampire". Those words rang around my head specifically the last one. I stayed out of my siblings dram for a reason, it was unsafe, but even being blood to them had put me in danger. "I don't know if that's what I want" "You'd rather die?" he questioned in a confused manner. "I'M ALREADY dead Kol!" I thundered turning my head to look him in his brown eyes. "You made sure of that" I frowned a little softer.

"And now i'm giving you the opportunity to live again, how you've never lived before, ill help you, ill teach you everything I know- I won't let you do this on your own, you're right its my fault" he sighed with gilt wrapped round his face. I thought for a moment. Was it worth it? There was only one way to find out. "Okay" I whispered. And that was all he needed. On the side of the bed, there was a glass chalice filled with a red liquid. Kol reached over for it and presented it to me.

I smelt it first and the iron wiggled its way up my nose. It was blood. Without even thinking about it, because I knew id stop myself, I tipped it down my throat and swallowed. I felt a rush of pleasure rip through my body as every cell was reawakened. "Feel better?" he raised an eyebrow. And I nodded, going in for another sip. A smile danced across his lips, a proud one. And I wasn't sure if that was dangerous or not.

Over the next few days me and Kol spent every second together. Apart from when it was time to go to sleep. But even sleep was short now, not like the lengthy 8 to 10 hours I usually got. I could function completely fine on three or four now. He taught me how to hunt, how to compel, how to vamp run which I particularly enjoy. Being a vampire was more fun than I could have ever imagined. But I wasn't sure if that was because I was sharing my experience with Kol. As the days turned to the next we grew closer and closer. And he seemed to get more handsome everyday.

The next day his hand would linger a little longer, the next he'd hold a stare for longer than he should have. But I never minded. Instead the excitement of being a vampire became entwined with my excitement to see Kol every morning. I had heard no word from my family yet, but I didn't want to, how could I explain that I dint need saving, that I wanted to stay, even for a little longer. To get everything I can out of the time I spend here.

Knock Knock

"Come in" I called out flipping my hair to one side and rolling over in the large silky bed. Kol walked in with a grin on his face. "Good morning" he started, and closed the door behind him. "Hey. how'd you sleep?" I asked returning a smile. "Not bad, I was too excited for today's lesson to get much rest" he shrugged and for some reason I had had the same problem. "Ahah, well what is it going to be?" "Control" he replied, taking a seat on the side of the bed like he had the first night.

"They seem to be getting progressively harder" I raised an eyebrow. "You're going to do great" he shook his head having no doubts at all. "Where are we going for it?" "We can start off at home- and see how you get on, then I can take you into the public" he suggested with a slight shoulder shrug. "I see- okay, will I'll get dressed and washed, and i'll meet you downstairs in an hour?" "Yeah, that sounds good" he nodded staring deep into my eyes. He didn't move even though the conversation had ended. "Kol?" I smiled, bringing him back to life.

"Sorry- you know- sometimes I just get completely lost in your eyes" he admitted tilting his head to the side. My face burnt red, I wasn't used to receiving compliments and when I did I never knew how to react. "You're cute, I'll see you downstairs" he finished, and stood to leave the room. I was left speechless. Was he flirting with me now? He must have been. I didn't even need an hour to get ready, I rushed around and was then in 35 minutes.

"That was quick" "Maybe I was excited to see you" I bounced back, leaning against the door frame staring at him on the sofa. Game on. "Really" he chuckled to himself and closed whatever he was reading. "Excited to see me or for our lesson?" "Isn't that the same thing?" I questioned taking a few steps closer. Kol rose from the sofa. "Come and try then" he patted the seat next to him. That's when I became weary, what would this lesson entail.

I plopped down next to him and Kol put his hand out in front of me. "Drink, and stop when you've taken enough". I blinked shyly, this seemed slightly intimate. "W-will you tel me when?" "The first time, yes" he nodded once. My hands shakily reached out for his. "Breathe Y/n, you have nothing to be nervous about, it's only me" he comforted moving closer to me. But I would have been less nervous if it had been anyone else. Not the guy I was crushing on hard.

My teeth retracted and pierced his palm, I hand his hand with mine pushing it closer and closer to my mouth. Drinking his blood was liberating, more so than human blood. I felt his hand brush my hair to the side of my face and my teeth sank deeper wanting more. "That's all you need" he whispered in my ear. But it was going to take more than that for me to let go. I craved him and I couldn't stop. "Y/N, this is about control" he reminded me as I hungrily continued feeling every part of my body radiate life and purpose. "Y/n" he called out again and then took it into his own hands.

He pulled his hand away from my mouth and before I could complain he swapped with his lips. We pressed against each other engulfing one another. I could hardly believe what was happening but I was feeling so many sensations and I didn't want it to stop. He pulled my body closer, one hand on my neck and we sank into the kiss. A kiss that brought life back into me more than vamparisum ever could. Kol was the first to gently pull away, he held my head close to him and looked into my eyes.

“That wasn’t very controlled from either of us” he breathed heavily. My hands were round the back of his neck and brushed the bottom of his hair. “I have no control around you” I whispered shaking my head, his thumb brushed across my cheek. “God I’m so sorry for what I did to you” he frowned caressing my hair with his other hand. “No- you were right, you’ve give me the opportunity to live how I’ve never lived before” I told him grabbing his hand and squeezing it in between mine. “You’re an angel on earth- and I don’t think I can continue immortality without you” Kol shook his head grabbing on to me a little harder.

“You don’t have to- I don’t want to either Kol- being a vampire is nothing if you’re not by my side” I replied nodding and trying to hold his head still to show him it’s okay. “You really mean that? Even after what I did to you?” He hitched his breath and leant closer to my face. But before I could answer on of the windows behind me smashed into shards of glass. I whipped around.

Bonnie stood there holding her hands up, Elena and jer stood behind her and on the outside the Salvatore brothers. Klaus had Vamp ran into the room now, and Rebekah wasn’t that far behind. Everyone seemed to stop and stare at how close me and Kol were, but everyone soon looked at Klaus blowing up about his window. “I have told you time and time again, she doesn’t want to be saved, Kol is helping her not keeping her prisoner!” He yelled at them all.

“Y/n… is this true” Elena asked, I watched as her eyes trailed down to my hands and where his hands were too. I blinked, everything was happening really fast. But when I looked back at Kol i couldn’t even look Elena back in the eye to tell her “I don’t want saving, I don’t need saving” I shook my head once twinkling a smile towards Kol. They all looked around at one another in shock at the words that came out my mouth. Me and him were still staring at each other, his hand smoothed the hair in my head.

“You can go home Elena, I’ve found something worth living for”.

A/n:Im only writing this for fun and I don’t know where I’m going with this I think I’ll stop here cuz idk what to write anymore but better than doomscrolling anyways

The spell didn’t break.

It flickered.

Just enough.

The pressure holding you down wavered for half a second—long enough for instinct to take over.Jeremy noticed too late.You moved fast, ripping the wooden hanger clean in half as you lunged. His eyes widened just as you drove the sharpened end into his shoulder, not deep enough to kill—but enough to drop him with a shout.

“Jeremy—!” Elena screamed from the hallway.You grabbed him before he could recover, yanking him upright and dragging him back with vampire speed, slamming him against the wall and holding him there, your arm locked tight around his chest.

“Don’t,” you warned, voice shaking but fierce. “Don’t come any closer.”

Jeremy struggled, gritting his teeth, trying to push you off. “Elena—don’t—”

You bit him.Not feeding—threatening.He cried out, body going rigid in your grip. You pulled back just long enough to look at Elena, your eyes wild, terrified, desperate.

“He won’t die,” you said, breath uneven. "Not with the ring. But can I keep doing this."

Elena froze, tears filling her eyes.

"Please," she begged. "Stop. Bonnie-Bonnie can fix this."

"Then tell her to drop the spell," you snapped. "Or he bleeds out. Over and over. Until there's nothing left to heal."Jeremy went limp for a second, breath shaky, jaw clenched in pain. You held him tighter, panic and guilt crashing together inside you.You never wanted this.But you were done being a prisoner.

Then—

*CRASH.*

Your head snapped toward the sound just as another presence filled the house. You reacted on instinct, shoving Jeremy away from you hard and the floor vanished beneath you.Jeremy hit the ground first, the impact knocking the breath from him, and you fell with him, crashing down awkwardly, tangled together as the broken wooden shard slammed through the door with violent force, splintering the frame.

Elijah Mikaelson stepped inside, eyes sharp, calculating—not panicked, not sentimental. A man with a plan. A man at war with his own brother.

“Elena,” he said calmly but firmly, “step away.”

You shoved Jeremy aside instinctively, both of you hitting the floor hard. He groaned beneath you, the ring already starting to glow faintly. You scrambled backward, heart racing, hands shaking.Jeremy tried to sit up, disoriented, blood soaking into his shirt. “Elena—don’t—”

“Stay down,” you snapped, more fear than anger in your voice.

Elijah’s gaze flicked to Jeremy’s wound, then to the broken hanger in your hand. No shock. No outrage.

“So,” Elijah said coolly, “they decided to use you as leverage.”

Elena’s voice broke. “She’s hurting him! Bonnie put a spell on the house—we had to—”

“You had to kidnap an Original?” Elijah cut in sharply, eyes never leaving you. “Bold. Reckless. Predictable.”

You laughed shakily. “He won’t die,” you said, voice trembling. “The ring makes sure of that. But I can make it hurt.”

Elijah turned on him instantly. “Put. The stake. Down.”

Jeremy froze.

“You want my help killing Klaus?” Elijah continued, tone deadly calm. “Then you do not antagonize the one thing he might hesitate over.”

Your head snapped up. “He won’t hesitate.”

“Not because he loves you,” Elijah said quietly. “But because you are his sister. And Klaus does not tolerate others holding what belongs to his family.”

That made your stomach twist.

Elena stepped forward, tears streaming. “Please,” she begged you. “Let him go. Bonnie’s trying to hold the spell but—”

“Drop it,” Elijah said decisively.

Elena turned to him, shocked. “What?”

“Remove the boundary spell,” Elijah ordered. “Now.”

Jeremy stared at him. “Are you insane?”

“No,” Elijah replied coldly. “I’m practical. If Klaus arrives and finds her restrained, Jeremy dies first. Slowly.”

You tightened your grip on the broken wood, pulse roaring in your ears. “You’ll let me walk?”

Elijah nodded once. “You are not their prisoner. And you are not my enemy.” His voice hardened. “Klaus is.”

Bonnie’s magic flickered. The pressure around your body eased—just enough for you to breathe again.You looked at Jeremy one last time. He looked back at you, jaw clenched, eyes full of anger and something dangerously close to guilt.

“This isn’t over,” he said.

“I know,” you whispered.

Elijah stepped aside, giving you a clear path. “Go,” he said. “Before my brother feels you any more clearly than he already has.”

You hesitated only a second—then vanished.The moment you crossed the threshold, the air felt lighter.

But not safer.
