Silver and Honey, Chapter 25: Birthday Shenanigans

“Jones?” someone asked from over her shoulder. She turned to see a young man, probably a few years younger than her. He balanced carefully on Lofstrand crutches, his whole lower leg encased in a plaster cast. Bucky sat up straighter, clearing his throat.

“Ion.” he said, as if very surprised to see him. Mika was also very surprised. Bucky had a friend? This was an exciting moment indeed. Bucky looked to her for a moment then back to the young man. Though his movements were still minute and controlled, she could see right through him at now. She’d never seen him so flustered. “Oh, uh, this is my friend Mika. Mika, this is Ion. We used to work together at the warehouse.”

“Nice to meet you.” Mika said, giving Ion a bright smile and extending her hand for a shake. He was a little precarious on his crutches, but he managed to give her a flirty grin and take her hand.

“Nice to meet you as well. You must be the ‘friend’ that Jones always goes on about.” he said, his smile bordering on mischievous now. Mika raised her eyebrows, turning back to Bucky. He looked a little more nervous now.

“Oh, you talk about me?” she asked. She was really more surprised that he talked, rather than that he talked about her. She knew friends often came up in conversation. But was she going to let the opportunity to make fun of him pass by? Absolutely not.

AND IT SHOULD BE A NATIONAL HOLIDAY REALLY!!!!                     (ok i know it’s president’s day so technically it already is but....)  

for cole’s gift, i decided to commission someone to draw her lil beebees, mika and bucky from silver and honey! i’ve adored @aeroplaneblues’ art style for  y e a r s  so i jumped at the chance to have her do a mucky piece! mika and bucky have never looked cuter eating apple pie imho!

OH IMMA GO WITH A MIKA/JANE DOE ONE JUST CAUSE!!!

so mika thinks jane is bucky’s daughter which increases his attractiveness 100% cause hot single dad!

when she drops the cake off at the door, he takes it and gives it to jane who inHALES IT  

and she figures he must like sweets cause he ate the cake right?? so when she brings over the cheesecake and he doesn’t enjoy she’s like ??? who ate the cake then?? and he’s like ….jane aka the reason she believes she’s his daughter

starts dropping off treats for jane, but never sees her out of the apartment which is ….strange

she tries not to bring it up whenever they hang out, but wants him bring it up 

accidentally does one night and bucky just freezes and mika’s like….shit

he quickly corrects her and she’s confused cause maybe sister?? but that’s such an age difference ugh confusion 

finally meets jane one day

(she’s def trying to break into mika’s apartment) 

jane: deer in headlights face, mika: confusion

jane’s ready to be disciplined since that’s what they did at hydra, but mika just invites her inside for coffee

finds out jane’s never had coffee – a TRAGIC discovery

asking why jane was doin a little b&e 

(she was curious about the woman who dropped off treats for her, doing some recon)

mika tells her she’s welcome any time 

later when she finds out about bucky and hydra, then also finds out about jane – goes full Mother Bird Mode on her 

(has a lot of feelings abt hydra taking a CHILD and making her a WEAPON)

(helps her figure out where she really came from aka her birth parents)

helps care for her, takes her shopping, introduces her to nicky, watches movies, helps her with social skills like she helped bucky 

basically adopts jane tbh
