This? This is the furrowed and sweat-soaked brow of a man robbed! ROBBED I tell you!
What glorious possession was stolen from me? What kind of ne'er-do-well committed such an atrocity? What crime warrants a scowl such as this?
Well, after putting in a solid 30 minutes into the MOSSA Fight I workout on Xbox Fitness, my progress for that session was lost to the digital aether. I've done the Fight I workout a couple times, and every time, it feels like it's getting harder (I guess that's a sign that it's working). This time around, though, I had completed one of the tougher achievements that may have involved me going back to certain exercises over and over again within this session.
The second the session ends? The moment when my achievements are spelled out for me on the screen?
I see my dashboard. Or home screen. Whatever Xbox ONE calls it. No problem, I think. This has happened before, and everything worked out. This time, though, I re-enter Xbox Fitness, and while it registers MOSSA Fight I as my most recent exercise, it doesn't show that I earned any stamps towards my next level (currently Level 10).
Ultimately, though, I did pretty well, and I actually did the workout, which is the important part. Still, I'm a little bitter I'm not getting any points for it.
Systemized achievement and badging are big reasons as to why I keep doing Xbox Fitness. It's one thing to feel the workout, but to actually see how far you've come based on the judgement of the All-Seeing Eye of Kinect is a major motivator.
Ah well. Still gonna do it again. Who knows? Maybe the issue will shake itself out by next time.
