#mi appears

I was always on the fence about repudating it, but I have recently received comments on my other works (one with another author who has worked his butt off to write with me) about updating the fic.

It is incredibly rude and disrespectful to comment on other works not about the topic, and with another author on it nontheless, begging for an update on a fic.

I will be officially discontinuing the fic as of right now.

I agree that it is coming to a conclusion soon (and I really hope it is, since this current arc is the reason I'm not as invested anymore.)

Typical SSKK date!

So my favorite concept of a Shin Soukoku date is not something overly romantic or even something typical that a couple does. My favorite thing is actually the two of them doing something that neither of them have gotten to experience before.

Like listen to a playlist of music that they werent exposed to growing up, playing a board game that they'd never heard of before, going to the zoo or aquarium, going to an arcade.

My ultimate SSKK date I wrote with a friend, shoutout to my lovely Atsushi RP partner, was a day on the boardwalk of Yokohama where they played Dance Dance Revolution and won each other prizes.

Let them just be normal traumatized adults rebuilding their lost childhood together please.

You aren’t!

They aren’t literally connected in a sense, the only time they’ve met each other was when Atsushi threw a baby at Tachihara in the Guild Arc, but they’re connected in a different way. 

They’re foiling each other

Tachihara is our main POV for the Hunting Dogs, just as Atsushi is the main POV for the ADA. 

Both were treated like garbage, considered worthless.

And then, they were both found by an organization that gave them a purpose aka the Hunting Dogs and the ADA. They feel less worthless because of these organizations.

If you look at any interactions between Tachi and the Hunting Dogs, he seems genuinely happy to be recognized by them, in the same way, Atsushi is happy to be a part of the ADA (and Akutagawa by Dazai) That’s because he was literally told that he was pathetic for not dying instead of his brother. Tachihara feels accepted there because as he sees it, he’s being useful to society and being recognized for it.

Just like Atsushi, whose entire complex is that if he doesn’t save people and isn’t useful, then he doesn’t have the right to live. (Tachihara’s is a bit less extreme than Atsushi’s but the core is still there.)

Tachihara has also taken revenge on Yosano (who shouldn't be to blame for what happened because she too was a victim) and justified it using his job, just as Atsushi lashes out at Akutagawa (and other villains too) and justifies it by “he’s just a villain”

But unlike Atsushi, Tachihara has begun to see the aftermath of his lashing out as seen when Gin and Hirotsu (people that despite being technically his enemies are people he does care about) are injured because of what he’s doing. 

And he feels bad.

This is the difference between Atsushi and Tachihara.

Because Atsushi’s lashing out also leads to a result, but unlike Tachihara, he hasn’t begun to see the other as people yet. 

Meanwhile, it is Tachihara’s understanding of the Mafia and ability to empathize with them that leads to the page of the Book ripping.

And someday, Atsushi will be able to do that too.
