I feel like people forget about how observant he is, he keeps track of everyone’s progress and personality traits so well. Since he quite has literally nothing in his room, he ponders a lot. (This hc was inspired by season 3 ep1, the class is at the pool and he recognized and stated “it looks like you’ve been working out” to ojiro, which is proof that he does care about his peer’s health and wellbeing, obviously cuz he’s super nice and can do nothing wrong but sigh oh well…) this naturally impacts you guys’s relationship, in a positive way, especially since Mezo is super emotionally intelligent/mature.

When you guys go out to eat, if you insist on paying before or during the meal, he excuses himself to go the bathroom but in reality he’s paying for it.

Shoji will quite literally do anything you ask, literally the embodiment of “your wish is my command”. Even if it’s cleaning your toenails, he’ll do for your sake. But this man knows how to establish boundaries, so do not be fooled, merely only because he loves you and will do anything in his power to be your gentleman. Ok now thinking about… cleaning your damn toenails is dedication, Mayhaps at certain points he makes a compromise. Imagine, if you ask him to do a next level, impossible quest/favor, Mezo thinks about it at first and then decides to pivot. Not reluctantly, but warily devoted; loyal/dedicated but he’s also cautious. He decides to make a come back of “Well if I’m doing this, may I get a back massage in return?” his dorky smile comes across his face, in hopes of you accepting the offering with his twist. Stifling back moans to hell and back cuz I jus KNOW that there arms on each side is not for the weak, plus the amount of work he puts in working out and fighting a bunch of people is hard ass work. Majority of the time he’s pretty stiff at times, maybe not sore since he is a hero and I bet he has been taught to properly exercise but regardless of all the precautions before doing such prestigious work, he’s bound to have some semblance of joint pain and overexerted muscle strain. So having that back massage is doing the lord work in shojis eyes, the feeling of your hands going at it through all the knots around his shoulder blades is actually a ticket to see heaven’s gates.

At some point Mezo is gonna take his mask off, when he does he’s pleasantly taken aback when you have a positive reaction. He really appreciates the trueness of your heart and moral, thanking you for the fact that you never judged him by his cover and what’s underneath. Don’t be scared to ask questions or say silly remarks, in fact he encourages you to do so. (This is seen season 7 episode 14 [essentially shoji’s ep] and Mezo was explaining his backstory, he said that he doesn’t want the topic and its controversy of heteromorph abuse to be taboo. He wants an open discussion, as he is also into that stuff, but he has high emotional intelligence to not let get to him too much)

This is lowkey more personal/oddly specific headcanon, so skip it if youd like. Anyhow, Imagine Mezo watching MoistCritikal before going to bed; ready to sleep, on your phone, cuddling and wrapping his arms around you, perhaps your fidgeting with his webs as well. He sometimes comments on what charlie reviews, especially if it’s like criminal and police webcams. Mezo might be the most gentlemanly people ever but he is still so blunt and real, that’s why he also likes Charlie cuz he don’t beat around the bush but also when he analyzes situations, most times his opinion is actually so valid and logical/justifiable. Mezo pretty much 80% of the time agrees with moisty.

When you react to him, and the result of nuzzling into his chest, his arms tighten around while softly chucking as your cuteness. His phrase that he says most of the time is “my silly girl…” Mezo most of the time murmurs into your hair, reaching his hand to your scalp to lightly to give it soft scritches.

His hands are always touching you, physical touch and acts of service is his shit, his jam.

Since Mezo is hella minimalist then he would do more quality time type of things during hangouts of if he plans out a birthday or sum- I’ll dote on this idea in my next hcs (hopefully around Christmas)

If you call Mezo your husband before getting married, composed on the outside but good god if you saw that heart rate number you’d actually would think he’d be dropping like a rag doll on the floor in a minute. He is so attentive with everything that you say, no matter how interesting or boring the subject he’s always having at least one more ear to listen to “your beautiful voice.” As he likes to call it, but the mix between Mellifluous voice of yours and the thought of you guys getting married (assumed to be pretimeskip ig?) makes him ecstatic. Produces more reasons to love you even more than before. Mezo ponders a lot like I’ve mentioned before cuz he quite literally does barely nothing besides eat, sleep, work out, go to school and do homework + hanging out with friends. If you have seen his room IT HAS NOTHING😭😭 but it creates even more of a reason as to why he loves you so much since he is very simple to accommodate and please. So something like “ohhh here comes my beautiful husband walking through the door, what a sight” surprises Mezo cuz quite frankly, everyone has always been scared or thought weird of his appearance (like season 5 ep 8 where Tori was saying how she didn’t like octopuses and shoji responded to the statement with “I’m used to that” like omg noooo🥺🥺 but anyway) Mezo thinks the world of you for the nickname/label, because he really does want to spend the rest of his time with you. He is a very simple man, (this is also seen when shojis dream is just to walk with the person who he saved a whole while ago, that just screams how he’s every simple to please and doesn’t take advantage of anything in a bad sense)

That’s when he pulls out the shoji screen move haha get it cuz his names shoji lmao but if he really wanted the privacy, he could totally just block the outside with his webbed arms. mezo would continue giving all the love behind his little made self shoji screen, but then again he’d prolly be so fed up of people’s prejudice/negative opinions that he really don’t care. If anything he loves showing you off, after all he’s with you, you must be precious. He doesn’t date willynilly, he does it with meaning and patience.

This also applies to when you want privacy like if your changing or doing something in secret. But honestly I feel like he could just stand there like a giant brick will and still cover you cuz he’s lowkey a giant but ykkk😝😝

omg don’t even get me started with how big he is like genuinely who wouldn’t this massive human to be loving and cuddling all up in your shit. Just imagine the bear hugs he would give, like during the show it’s known/shown that he isn’t afraid to touch people regardless of his past and the consequences that went along with it. Mezo would definitely be pretty cuddly, I mean you’re bound to be when you have six freaking arms bro.

He is such a gentleman, like actually. Sometimes when the time comes and the time and place for it, you happen to walk into a door and open it up before he could (and trust he takes every precaution for this to not happen but yk) he makes you do the whole motion all over again, walking back a few steps behind the door to wherever, holding your hand the entire time with such carefulness. Opening the door for you makes him feel so accomplished.

I feel like people forget that he’s super straight forward and lowkey blunt asf, and he’s sarcastic too. Proof of the bluntness is when mezo spoke up to Denki and Mina after getting 19 and 20th place (last place btw😭) when they were talking about how easy their next trip is gonna be as a class, mezo says “why do you sound so happy you both have a hard time controlling your quirk” LIKE OK DAYUMMM CLOCK IT SHOJI. Anyway,,,,) he would definitely do that to you BUT his peacefulness and unvindictive-ness balances that. He’s not a complete bitch and just says anything without thinking first, he always put himself into someone else’s shoes to understand their true emotion, moral and intention. Simple as it is, that key step makes a world of a difference within communicating impact in one’s relationship. This is the reason why you guys rarely ever have arguments, cuz each side actually communicates in a healthy way. Agreeing to disagree and patience is also key in Shoji’s eyes, any type of reaction is welcome but it’s how you, as a partner, go about it is lucrative; as in if you guys as a couple have a disagreement. After the initial statement/assertion of his opinion, mezo makes it his priority to listen to your side of the story. Responding to your opinion/point is accordingly and scarily impactful- he makes you feel so heard and cared for. Along with that, It is evident throughout the whole conversation that he loves you regardless of the circumstances within the sudden disagreement. His bluntness will help levitate the tension or confusion, Mezo does not beat around the bush- especially in these kinds of conversations. The whole duration of it, shoji doesn’t necessarily look at it in the perspective of disagreements in a negative sense, he just recognizes your feelings along with his and tries to improve upon the information provided. Conversations like these hopefully won’t have a negative connotation to it, on the contrary to most people think, it should be a moment of self reflection and introspective awareness.

Whenever he stands there, just menacingly… sometimes that can make people look over, maybe in fright or curiosity, unbeknownst to him he doesn’t notice his own stature and how that may be the reason why everyone looks at him at times. And you gotta wonder your own self, tf is that stare for??😭 like I’m abouta be real here, it’s hard to distinguish someone’s emotions when you got no eyebrows, a mask that covers your nose and below, and no ears. You can’t even see the blush or confusion he may be having, or anger, he’s just there. At times like these where your standing in line for something and stares off into the environment, you ask the grand question: what’s wrong? When you catch is attention, you can tell that you just lit up his whole world just by your presence, plus your voice. He responds with the most softest voice for a big man like him, which always makes you giggly at the stark contrast.
