off the top of my head:
brainwashing addiction. someone frees u from ur brainwashing but u keep feeling tempted to go back n get hypnotized again bc of how good it felt
ethically murky brainwashing where maybe it's sorta in self-defense. it's better than hurting people. or letting them get themselves hurt. trying to justify to yourself why enthralling someone and making all their decisions for them is good actually and u don't even fully believe it urself but you gotta believe it to live with yourself and it's probably fine to use that brainwashing to make sure you and everyone else sees it that way
(sorta related to above) reluctant/uncertain hypnotists who are all conflicted about brainwashing people. maybe they don't like doing it but it keeps happening by accident, or they like it too much and keep relapsing and doing it when they know they shouldn't
using hypno/mind control for pretty mundane/unimportant stuff. brainwashing a barista to make your coffee free or making your roommate think you did the dishes instead of them. little selfish stuff
lighthearted noncon stuff that's less abt completely disregarding someone's boundaries & more making them want it against their will
dunno if those are all like, tropes in the sense u meant, but have a buncha hypno stuff i really like. i could keep going but i feel like by the end i'd have listed most hypno tropes that aren't the jungle book snake or making someone have sex with you
