After being guided to her tent by a belly-dancing lamia out on the plaza, Dylan had been persuaded to let Meredith offer a quick glimpse into his future. Amid the darkness of the tent and his cushiony seat upon a bed of her scales, that 'quick glimpse' had quickly spiraled out of control; Tarot Cards, Tea Leaves, Palm Readings. She even attempted to read his mind, but still, his future seemed clouded in darkness to the fortune-telling lamia. He was clearly in control of his own destiny!
If he was any wiser, he'd have been more suspicious. He'd have realized that, as she'd told him off all his fortunes, she was not-so-subtly hypnotizing him, for she had a different fate in store for him. Her hypnotic gaze pulsed into his very being, her spirals drowned his thoughts in a kaleidoscopic cascade of color. Thick coils ensnared him in loops of scale and muscle, piled around him and ensnaring him to the spot as Meredith worked her magic over him.
As she broke from her vision, her tail approached, a crystal ball held within its scales. "Gaze into the ball," she commanded, her words echoing in his mind, "The ball knows all."
“The ball… knows all…” Dylan repeated, his thoughts awash with Meredith’s colorful gaze. Her coils squeezed tight around him and her hands clasped onto his head, holding him still until all his focus was upon the crystal ball. His jaw hung slack, and a thin wisp of drool began to drip from his lips onto Meredith’s scales. Meredith’s words echoed in his mind, stringing along his thoughts in a symphony of subliminal thought. “The ball knows all. The ball knows all. The ball knows all.”
The fortune-teller lamia marveled at the sight of him so perfectly bound in her coils. Perfectly bound to her desires. A hungry desire stirred within her, burning with lust. She couldn’t help but drool at the thought of him as her perfect pet. "Yes, good boy... Gaze into the ball... Let your future be mine~"

Had an absolutely fascinating dream this morning where we ended up, for reasons unknown, getting sent a year into the past in an alternate universe. Reason we're talking about it in our asks was you were there as a college professor and we were like "wait we know her!" and there was a moment where like, in this world we had no knowlwdge of eachother so we mentioned Rush as one of the constants and dream-y'all responded that something had happened to cause you to call thwm "the constants no longer".

You'd think Warhammer miniature wargames would have more mind control/treason effects:
· straightforwardly fun to use your opponent's specialized weapons and positioning against them.
· (in 40k) fits both the paranoiac nature of crumbling empires and their oppressive surveillance apparatuses, AND the treacherous powers of the Warp (blinding rage, mental compulsions, twisting illusions).
· low risk of mixing up component ownership, or exposure of secret information since armies are usually distinct and unit stats are public.
· themes of corruption and subversion being core to Chaos, Tyranid Genestealers, and Necrons (superior control over machines).
In practice GW has sandblasted most instances of this despite once letting Imperial Assassin models overwrite opponent's models midgame for surprise strike from the back ranks.
Tbh it's also not especially surprising to see why: this introduces immediately a lot of friction and swinginess to the game. The units capable of inflicting such effects would need to be costed as if they had one shot access to heaviest weapons in the entire game at an enhanced range. The players facing against lists capable of this would need to plan on having multiple layers of defense for their vulnerable linchpin units to account for possibility of bodyguards or defensive snipers getting turned on them. And if your mind control effect has managed to bypass your enemy juggernaut's willpower/leadership save why not just straightforwardly command it to self-destruct?
I am leaning back to my old thought that lose aversion that makes designers avoid stun mechanics is to blame. Gamers need to get more comfortable with entropy of needing to plan around awkward and catastrophic circumstances for hypnokink friendly game design to thrive.
Btw miniature wargame hypnosluts, do you have any recommendations for wargame or specific edition that is most friendly to this kind of indulgent bs?
It's been a LONG time since I played tabletop but from what I rember there were rules for this with atleast necrons where they could take over a commander unit using "control scarbs" from a cyptek unit. I belive the tyranids had somthing similar.
