Couch madness
She awakes to see a world of darkness. Oddly enough, the only thing she can see is what she’s immediately touching. She’s dreaming of…
A couch, of all things.
It’s very finely made, even better than the stiff-backed monstrosity Hawke has in their mansion. Although this one is pretty, it’s so much more comfortable. Plush. Silken pillows, woven from threads that seemto both be made from starlight and sunbeams, dancing across the fabric in patterns she can’t even begin to follow.
Fenris would scoff at it, no doubt. That much luxury was a sure sign of oppression. Dominance. The person who lounged on this piece of furniture didn’t have a care in the world.
She was so lost in trailing her fingers over the fabric that she failed to notice the approach of another until they sat down next to her.
Her green eyes snapped to the person and she felt her jaw drop.
He was beautiful. Long, braided hair. Tall. Broad shoulders, but never bulky. His clothes matched the style of the couch.
But what caught her eye was the pale markings to Mythal and a set of graceful, pointed ears.
Just like hers.
His eyes were wide too, staring long and hard at her face with an intensity that made her squirm.
If this was a desire demon, it surely knew how to play her wants. A handsome ancient elf?-she was so doomed.
Steeling her nerves, she set her jaw shut with determination.
“What do you want?”
The man blinked, as if he was taken aback by her use of common. Oh right. Point: demon.
She tried again. “I greet thee.”
He replied with a word she didn’t know. This demon was accurate, if nothing else! She shook her head with a chuckle.
That only seemed to confuse him more. He leaned towards her and pointed.
“Curiosity?”
Wait.
The ancient elves spoke common??
At her lack of response, he repeated it once more. Almost as if it was a name.
“No. Merrill.”
His full lips pursed in thought for a moment before it turned into an impressive pout. Grumbling to himself, he made a series of strange gestures in the air, causing the couch to shimmer slightly.
She gripped the stupid pillow for dear life. What was he doing?
Thankfully, it only lasted a moment.
“Forgive me, I thought you were someone else.” He spoke.
And she could understand him perfectly.
“Oh.” was all she could sigh. He had a very pleasant voice.

I LOVE IT!!! <3
Merrill, holy crap!
How do you explain to someone that a character is both your wife and your child.
