I recently found out that one of Night Vale’s upcoming live shows is going to be at Meow Wolf in Santa Fe, and I cannot imagine a better venue. I highly recommend looking up pictures of Meow Wolf and just reveling in how appropriate it is.
Oh god, Meow Wolf is one of those places that has always made me regret living on the East Coast and never having been further west than Wisconsin. I can’t even imagine going to a WTNV show there. That’s the dream.
So David’s angry monologue about hope in the recent Eskew episode was the most depressing and best piece of audio fiction I’ve consumed in some time. I am glad I saw some of your posts about this show and decided to give it a try.

Eskew is really such a spectacular show and I wish it was getting so much more attention.

I was at work one day, and a homeless lady stopped by my desk and asked if I would give her some bills for her change. I did, and she left--which should have been the end of it. Then another lady walked up and started aggressively demanding that I tell her if the homeless lady had bought cigarettes, because apparently she felt entitled to know how the homeless woman spent her money. It really threw me for a loop. Angrily demanding information from a retail worker over someone else's money is low
apparently how homeless people spend their money is everyone’s business? even though you would never demand to know how any other stranger or friend was using their money because it’d be considered invasive and rude and not your place. it’s really weird, and it’s definitely rooted in classism.
