Okay so according to Jello’s new FAQ on epithet erased, we now know all the countries in this universe! I just made up a small list of where the main cast descended from just for fun:
Taiga country: Percy, Molly (on her dad’s side), Mera
Deepwood country: Molly (on her mom’s side)
Desert country: Indus
Seaside country: Mera, Zora (it’s never explicitly stated for Zora but the description of the country’s people most closely resemble her compared to any other country’s people)
Ocean country: Giovanni, Sylvie (again, never explicitly stated but it’s implied that because of their natural pink hair, they should have a tiny bit left of Ocean pure blood in them)
Australia: Ramsey (it’s heavily implied, due to Australians being suspected to have whiskers and rat faces in this universe)

Alright so I have an au idea: Molly runs away from home sometime after her mom dies and meets Mera. At first, Mera doesn't want some kid clinging to her but keeps Molly around because of her Epithet. However! She slowly starts to care about her.
