Yesterday the Terry Mikeska Foundation was asked if we could visit the Parents Self Help Group in Bhaktapur, Nepal, this is a day care for the mentally challenged and handicapped, it was originally started as a daycare for those suffering from cerebral palsy, it was such a wonderful experience to talk with each child and teenager and watch how they are learning and working on their education. In 2007 I was fortunate enough to visit rural Kenya and a dozen or so schools. The desire of the children to learn was inspirational, in light of their extreme circumstances. The lives of children in rural Kenya are hard enough, and for these children even more so in light of their physical and mental challenges. In front of the camera however, they were themselves without reservation. The camera/lens combination was a Hasselblad 501CM/180mm, and the roll was exposed onto Fuji's brilliant Neopan Acros 100 using natural light.
