1. Is there a famous person who has influenced your life? How so?
Not so much in the way of specifics, but I always look up to elite athletes and sportspeople whose example of dedication, hard work and effort show that just about anything is possible when you put your mind to it. I'm currently training to be a fitness coach, and this particular chapter of my life seems to have been kickstarted by watching old episodes of The Biggest Loser and seeing the effect the trainers had on everyday people's lives, physically, but especially emotionally.
2. Would you be more afraid travelling in a deep sea submarine or in a shuttle going into space?
I'm a bit of a sucker for the beauty of the solar system and the feeling of being so insignificant to the wider universe that I think I'll opt for that over the cold depths of the black seas. Both are full of mystery but I'd prefer to be where light can penetrate.
3. What was the last thing you learnt?
How to shut off a steam room, excitingly.
4. Are there any habits of yours that people around you find annoying?
I tend to be extremely facetious around people or issues I find trivial or simplified, which is easily translated into me being insulting, which is fair enough I suppose. But then people take life so seriously, which is reason enough to act in the opposite way.
5. Is there a musical instrument you’ve always wanted to learn but never got around to it?
I don't have the patience to learn the guitar, and I doubt I'll ever get my hands on a pedal steel. But I'm comfortable being the one who listens and appreciates music, rather than the one who creates it.
6. Which city would you like to live in?
San Fran is wicked, but I think I'd be happy in Copenhagen too.
7. What was the last song to get stuck in your head?
Radiohead, Everything In Its Right Place
8. Do you believe that aliens exist or do you think that we’re alone in the universe?
If life managed to develop on one tiny planet in a sea of billions, the chances are pretty good, no?
9. Do you get along with children or do you hate kids? Would you ever have children and why/why not?
I get along with children who've been raised the right way. Those who are polite, patient and have humility. Unfortunately many seem to be raised in their parents' image to be extremely demanding, loud and selfish. Most of the time it seems they're ploughed with sugary drinks and sweets, and fed crap which only makes them over-energetic. I'd much rather have children (when I'm at least 30 at an absolute minimum) and raise them with a good sense of values, and to be able to think for themselves, rather than be a passive audience of receptors, like many people seem to be these days.
10. What was your first introduction to the internet?
Panicking over the dialup charges (restricted usage to the weekend) and using MSN.com to see 360 degree images of cars. At the time this was actually cutting edge. Google was nowhere near its inception.
11. Describe your favourite book in three words.
Transient. Lexicon. Exploration.
1. What do you think your handwriting says about you?
2. When someone asks you, "What sort of music do you like", what do you answer with?
3. You're hosting a fantasy dinner party with yourself and 7 other guests from any moment in time and history. Who do you invite and why?
4. What is your favourite mode of transportation?
5. What is your first thought when you think of the person who tagged you in this post?
6. Have you had any near death experiences?
7. Are you superstitious, and if so or if not, why?
8. You're going to write a novel. What is it about?
9. What is your dream job, and do you think you'll ever have it?
10. What is your biggest frustration with life?
11. What would you change about the country you live in?
