hi, im a teen doing igsce without any prep whatsover with 9 months left do u think that deduction wil help with my exams
Hello! and sorry for the late response, i'm glad you're interested in deduction, and while deduction is very much a skill that is useful in a plethora of situations and areas of life, when it comes to tests like igcse exams chances are it will only help you with logic based tasks and subjecs, so maybe only the more essay-like parts of the exams. And even in that case, deduction usually takes months to study to the point that you can actually use it for exams, so i wouldn't recommend relying on it at the moment. That being said tho, what i do think might help you is a Mind Palace, and i say this as someone that did a similar set of exams as the igcses, it's not particularly hard to learn and if you stick to it for a month or a few weeks you'll get the hang of it and it'll probably help you speed up your studies for your exams, if you need any information on how to make a mind palace feel free to shoot me another ask or a DM in my personal blog here! and if you wanna look up more information on your own start with looking up "the method of loci"
Best of luck with your exams!
Hi Dunia! Could you enlighten me with some memorization techniques/stuff that works? I have trouble with memorizing textbook info and I kinda sorta forgot how I used to do it in highschool 😤😤
Ok so I am gonna do a masterpost on this, but here are some quick tips.:Â
Say it out loud. After reading a chapter try to word it with your own words out loud. Do this a couple of times. First by looking at your notes and then once you have a explanation ready try to say it without looking.
Make sense of what you study. If you understand the concept of what you read, meaning lets say that you are studying the anatomy of the abdomen, if you understand why the compenents are named the way they are, if you know their primary functions, memorizing them will be much easier.Â
Write it down on a board. So I do this at school, because I dont have my own whiteboard at home, but, this is such a great way to memorize things. When you write on a whiteboard you try to create an overview. Try to do this with little to no help from your notes, see what it is that you cannot figure out and then try to write that on the board with help from your notes, delete it, and then write it again with no help from notes
I know that this seems like ALOT but memorizing does require for you to get the things over and over again. I really dont believe that anyone memorizes the things from the get go, so be patient and just work hard and I promise you will get there
Love,Â
Dunia
Help me with school lol
Do you guys have any effective studying tips? Like any ways I can remember stuff for my exams. I have a useless memory and it’s making me stress about the fact I won’t remember anything.
