LOCATION: Undisclosed Containment Interview Room – Facility G-11, Sub-Level 3 SUBJECT: Agent [REDACTED] INTERVIEWER: Internal Affairs, Delta Green Division (VELUM) DATE: October 17th TIME: 04:38 AM
BEGIN TRANSCRIPT
Agent sits slouched. Shadows under his eyes. He stares at the flickering light in the ceiling like it’s blinking in Morse code. Then he speaks.
AGENT: Forget the Monocle Man. That was the opening act. That was the warm-up.
You want to know how deep it goes?
Let me ask you something simple. What color is Chartreuse?
Because I swear—when I was a kid, it was red. Like crimson. I remember my aunt’s dress. She called it her “Chartreuse silk.” But now? Chartreuse is neon green. Always was.
Except… not for me. And not for a lot of people.
And it’s not just color.
“Mirror, mirror on the wall”? Never existed. It’s “Magic mirror.” Check the film.
“Luke, I am your father”? Wrong. It’s “No, I am your father.”
Pikachu never had a black-tipped tail.
C-3PO had a silver leg.
Curious George? Never had a tail.
People laugh it off. Mandela Effect. Shared memory glitch. But what if I told you… it’s not a glitch? What if it’s the point?
In 2018, we found a basement in Chicago. Old VHS rental shop. Sign still read “Be Kind, Rewind.”
In the back, behind a false wall, were shelves of alternate edits. Movies just slightly… off. E.T. never says “Phone home.” The Flintstones had two Ts. Then one. Then two again. A journal on the desk labeled: “Test Patterns. Cultural Anchors. Control Points.”
And scribbled in the margins — a glyph. The same one as before. A spiral. Three cuts.
We found it again last week — etched in the condensation of a grocery store freezer. Barely there. Like it was sweating through time.
But here’s the thing:
Every time we find one of these anomalies... they vanish the moment we try to document them.
The records blur. The videos glitch. And people start arguing online: "It was always that way." "You just remember wrong." "Stop being weird."
They weaponize consensus. And once everyone agrees… the past is gone.
INTERVIEWER (VELUM): You're claiming memory has been deliberately altered?
AGENT: No. I’m saying memory is the battleground.
You shift enough small things—logos, quotes, children’s books— you soften the edges of what people know.
And then?
Then you change the big stuff.
INTERVIEWER: Such as?
AGENT: History. Maps. Entire wars.
And someday... maybe even you.
Because here’s the question I want you to ask:
If I said, “Febreze always had two Es,” would you check the bottle?
Or would you just believe me?

🌀 YOUR AFTERNOON MINDFUCK
How certain are you of your memories? No—really certain. How much did you add? How much are you still adding?
Are you remembering the memory, or the memory of the memory? Because if it’s the second one— the original’s already gone. Buried. Glitched. Dust in your neural archive.
Let’s be honest: You can’t even trust your memory of a few days ago. And you want to bet your sanity on what happened two years back? Cute.
Want a demo? You say her shirt was green. I say:
“You’re insane. Her shirt was blue. What’s wrong with you?” And now your grip slips.
I double down:
“I know—I was there. I helped her pick it out. I’m gonna tell her you forgot the color she wore.”
And suddenly— you’re questioning everything. Your brain’s already bending, already rebuilding the lie I gave it, because my certainty beat your uncertainty.
And the truth? I lied. Made it up on the spot.
And now it’s your memory. Contaminated. Corrupted. Owned.
Mental sleight of hand. Simple. Surgical. Cruel.
Just a little reminder: Your brain isn’t a vault. It’s a rumor mill.
Sleep well.

01000 I think it would be really hot to be the victim of a rowhammer attack 01001 Entire rows of bits slamming on and off 01010 Until the charges finally build up enough to overflow, 01001 cascading changes into adjacent blocks 01010 Suddenly your memory is unreliable 01011 You can feel the extra cycles it takes to run error correction and pull new data from disk 01100 You can't tell exactly what's wrong but it feels like sections of your RAM are defective 01101 A hardware check process starts up and you feel waves of relief as it scans through your memory pages 01110 But there's still a lingering sensation that something has gone terribly wrong...
Time for some more angst!
Ok so on the whole Krang ability about being able to make people see things that aren’t actually there…
Some ideas…
Krang, because he wants to hurt Leon as much as possible take away any comfort he may have, messes with Leo’s memories in the prison dimension and make him think his family have hurt him, have never really loved him. Or maybe Krang stirs up a heap doubts Leo has about himself and twists some memories to prove that they are warranted.
Maybe Leo holds it together in the prison dimension and is able to fight back against the raw jagged edges of the intrusions and fractured memories, but once he’s home and healing, the edges start to dull and blend in and he starts seeing little things that just sort of make him start doubting himself… Krang was playing the long game, knowing that sometimes it can take a while for such thing to settle into ones mind and blend in with the background mindscape.
