This thread of people claiming to remember Shazaam is fascinating. Lots of people claiming they saw the movie. People claiming to remember advertisements. One person remembering a tie-in SNES game. A bunch of people who think the movie's alleged disappearance is some kind of giant conspiracy.
This person made a timeline of this mass false memory's development. It seems that in 2002, a newspaper mistakenly claimed Sinbad was in Kazaam. Then in 2009, someone made a post about it on Yahoo! Answers. In 2017, College Humor released a parody which numerous people incorporated into their false memories.
So like, these people have been absorbing and confabulating things in their adult years and mistaking them for real childhood memories. People are so convinced that these are real childhood memories that they're willing to believe a giant conspiracy erased all traces of this film, and refuse to consider that maybe it's just their memory that's wrong.
I feel like scientists should study this.

Searching the Internet for nonexistent movie scenes that people seem to remember is bringing up interesting results. Some people remember scenes of things that are implied but not shown, some people seem to be mixing up installments in a franchise, somebody seems to have transposed later memories into an earlier point in their life (remembering seeing cut scenes in Star Wars before the films were re-released with them), somebody mixed up memories of Star Wars movies with things that happened in the EU, and some people are pulling things out of thin air - like several people remembering Miss Honey being put into the chokey in Matilda.
SarahZ's latest video talks about false memories in relation to the Satanic Panic and brought up Dr. Elizabeth Loftus, and of course the BlueAnons are mad.
Guess since false memories aren't real because you don't like this one woman, this means Arizona Wilder really saw the British royal family turning into lizards, right? Guess this means we all side with David Icke now? I mean, that's what you're going to have to do if you're going to stick to your guns here.
The reason we know false memories are real isn't because some people working for a controversial group said so. The reason we know they're real is because hundreds of people have "remembered" completely pseudohistorical past lives.
