One classic tumblr Experience I never see people talking about on here is the one where you remember a popular blog you used to like and realize you haven’t seen them post for a while so you look up their url in the search function and find out that they deleted after somebody called them out for Arson and Perjury and Kidnapping and Adultery and Manslaughter

It’s buck wild to me that memeufacturing got run off of Tumblr for being a sex pervert and went to Twitter and just... remains popular there. A bunch of big name accts I follow on there follow them and I’m not sure if I’m Too Online but it feels weird to still see them pop up on my TL occasionally. Do I want to be that person who DMs someone out of the blue and says “Just so you know -blank- is problematic uWu”? Am I overreacting? Should I just get over it?

Back when memeufacturing was on tumblr being holier than thou, they made a post about how if you showed vines to people over 30 they wouldn't get it because they were raised on comedy that had like setup and needed longer, so they couldn't comprehend 6 second humor.
And I responded saying "unless they were from the U.K. and used to watch The Fast Show". And talked about how they famously liked to do quick-cut comedy, and some of the sketches were less than ten seconds long, none over three minutes.
And like they never replied to me personally, but like not long after I posted that response they made a post saying "Why do English people constantly ruin my life?" or something.
Saw another post about them going around and like... the public perception of memeufacturing on this website bothers me so much
They were 15, the people who wrote the callout about them were 14-16 and admitted to making most of it up - it was a big intragroup blowup between a bunch of kids that happened to spread all over the internet because the person at the center of it was famous.
I remember when I was 15 and I had a fight with two close friends at the time, complete with exaggerated claims of what each side had done and one of my texts being taken out of context and posted to social media. But since none of us were famous, it wasn’t deeply scarring for any of us - I made up with both of them separately later in high school, and I’m friends with both of them today.
But memeufacturing had the misfortune of being good at tumblr, and so their intragroup drama became a spectacle for an entire corner of the internet to opine on, and years later it still shapes public perception of them
