I guess so. I don’t think I’d be as frustrated if doing chores and repairs was just part of the rent agreement; I just feel like no one else but me even sees a lot of these things as worth addressing.Â
Part of it is also, frankly, COVID. There’s genuinely so little else going on in my life that I really don’t have anything else to focus on, especially right now when literally everyone is away.
I didn’t truly believe Orwell when he said that civilized life makes all emotions a little bit disgusting until I realized the most exciting thing going on for me is planning the 9/11 of cockroaches.Â
That’s also true, I suppose, although unfortunately I don’t have a car right now to do that with. I’m gonna be looking into freelance work. Writing copy and grants isn’t glamorous but Bukowski grinded away at a post office for most of his adult life too, lol.Â
I do technically have savings and a place I could move into fairly quickly, but it’s in a far more expensive city and even though I’d have roommates, I don’t wanna move in there without a job already secured. (also they have pets and no offense to my animals but I’m really burned out on them.) (also their dog knocked me over trying to sex me last time I was there lol.)
