Hurry up you two
I have a sneaking suspicion that my sore throat lately might be a result of eating this almost every single day for the last month.
Look how cute and teeny tiny they are. Can't wait to try in some chili I'm defrosting
My kind of brunch: Omu-Rice
あ〜この自由さが幸せ♥ Before I got married, Japanese comfort food Omu-Rice (Eggs over fried rice with ketchup) was one of the heroes at my dinner table. Since my husband don't know how eggs can be tasted good with ketchup and also comes from the culture where people associate eggs as breakfast, I tend to make it as brunch for myself. Peppery stir fried rice covered with airy 2 eggs omelet is finished with Melinda's ketchup. It's been about a year since I met this ketchup at Marshall's where I proudly go hunting for great deals on rare condiments and spices. Yesterday, my husband was making tuna quesadilla for his lunch while I made Omu-Rice with chicken rice for myself. This independence relationship is so comfortable♥

Melinda's - Original Habanero Hot Sauce
Melenda's was the first habanero hot sauce introduced in the States, debuting around 25 years ago in 1989. I believe its still the #1 habanero sauce in the US and isn't too hard to find. It's imported from Costa Rica but still only runs around $3 or less a bottle.
The number one ingredient is carrots, giving it a nice sweet taste without covering up the peppers. The sauce has a strong flavor and a good bite but not all that hot, so you can use a lot if you want. I've had other habanero sauces I like better but this one is still a solid winner. If you are looking for something spicier, there are three grades of "hotter" above this one.

Today’s sauce review: Melinda's Extra Hot Habanero Pepper Sauce
If hot sauce was only about the heat, no one would give a shit. There would be no reason for this blog. The whole hot sauce market would just be one spicy pissing contest. Whoever Melinda is knows this. This hot sauce right here is really something special. It's nothing too intense as far as the heat goes, but there is enough. The flavor to heat ratio is where this sauce really kicks ass though. It has all the flavor and heat you would expect from habaneros, and then it balances and enhances that flavor with the perfect mix of onion, garlic, vinegar, salt, and finishes everything off with just the right amount of lime. I poured a bunch of this in some potato casserole I had as a snack today. This hot sauce is a staple, and an absolute must have for any household. 19% Chance of blowing fire out your ass.
