For the next 5 sentences “ you do realize I can see you?”
I love how this little thing always breaks it's own rules, but technically, five sentences were written after the first one 🤭

"You do realize I can see you?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Buck immediately says as he steps out from where he had been peering at his ex-boyfriend from behind the aisle closest to him. "But, uh... hey. Hi, Tommy."
It feels strange to see him again after more than a year now. It had taken him off guard at first. There he was, browsing through the typical baking ingredients when a familiar frame had caught his vision. A build so familiar, so enticing that his heart had almost stopped for a moment.
It seemed like Tommy hadn't noticed him at first, so Buck had taken the moment to just... take in the view. Watching him scratch his chin thoughtfully as he seemed to consider which tea he should buy from the isle next to him.
Buck had also forgotten how incredibly perceptive Tommy was of everything in his surroundings, so he should have known better than to think he'd stare at him unnoticed.
Tommy, in turn, seems to take in the view of Buck as well now when he's fully revealed in front of him. His gaze is warm, but cautious, and it still has the same effect on Buck as it always has. He's already melting under his gaze, and feeling some kind of rare safety he hasn't felt in a really long time.
"Evan," he greets him back, and he smiles and Buck wants to walk right into his space and inhale his neck and just be in his presence. "Baking ingredients?" Tommy asks then, gesturing at the contents inside Buck’s cart.
"It's a thing I do now," Buck says sheepishly and kind of breathlessly, because his hot ex is standing right there.
"If your baking is half as good as your cooking, then I envy anyone who gets to enjoy it," Tommy says.
"You know, I have a fresh batch of amaretti cookies at home," Buck says before he can stop himself. "If you are interested, you can be the first one to try them. A-after me, of course, but I don't trust my biased opinion."
"Are you trying to tempt me into your home with baked Italian goods?"
"Is it working?"
Tommy looks like he's contemplating it, and Buck wouldn't be surprised if he were to turn on his heels right now and let that be an answer.
"Depends," Tommy eventually says, and Buck waits with baited breath for what he's about to say next. "Does it come with coffee?"
Buck grins with relief.
"I'll even make it extra sweet for you. Just how you like it."
"Sounds like a deal."
