Dragon Age Fight Club — Group #4 / Match 6 of 6
Meeran
"He’s a rogue, which is worth keeping in mind. People hear “mercenary leader” and picture some big sword guy, but Meeran’s actual class is rogue. So if you’re imagining him fighting fair, standing still, and trading heroic blows, probably don’t. He’s much more likely to use ambushes, numbers, knives, timing, and whatever dirty little opening the other person gives him."
"I don’t think Meeran is top-tier in raw power, but I do think people should give him his lane. He’s not a random refugee thug. He’s leading the Red Iron when Hawke arrives in Kirkwall, and Hawke can spend a whole year working for them before the game proper starts. If he’s stable enough to keep a mercenary company operating in that city, he probably knows when to fight, when to run, and when to send three other people instead."
vs. Celene Valmont I
"I think Celene is one of those “depends on the rules” characters. If you lock her in an empty room with a trained warrior, no guards, no prep, no weapons, no court, then yeah, probably bad for her. But if she gets even a little bit of time, influence, or access to her normal resources, the other person is going to have a terrible day. Orlais is her weapon more than anything she’d hold in her hand."
"She is not wandering into danger alone unless there’s a reason. She has guards, spies, assassins, money, noble leverage, and the full nightmare toolkit of the Game. Fighting Celene should count as fighting the system around Celene, because that’s how she fights."
Who would win in a fight?
