oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate
💛 where: mitochondrial matrix
💛 what: pyruvate combines with coenzyme A to form acetyl CoA
I know it’s cray cray but I hope just “seeing” where everything comes together is helpful and I could never find a schematic online that had everything I needed. But here it goes! Hope it helps and doesn’t give you slight seizures or make you go run away from Biochem! Which is one of my favorite subjects in medschool! I know throw the tomatoes at me I don’t care! 🍅🍅🍅 🙆🏾♀️ . . . Also can I just say that I think the names of these diseases, although unfortunate I know are my favorite to say like von gierke and McArdle’s shout to my friend. @_corey.diem_ as I use her as a mnemonic for cori’s disease. She’s cute petite shorter height and you get short branches of glycogen that build up ! sorry Corey I though I’d come clean! 😍😂🙊 . . I also added some of my original notes with some more detail jic. my original glycolysis sheet i don’t even know if it’s legible because it’s so worn out but I still use it ! Lol but draw these over and over✏️. I like to make it my phone and tablet background ! #medschoolnotes #metabolism #usmle #summary #fructose #stdyblr #studyart #metabolicpathways #metabolicdisorder #coridisease #galactosemia #mcardlesdisease #medschool #biochemistry #Biochem #study #medschool #glucosetest #metabolism #metabolicsyndrome #metabolicnutrition (at Knoxville, Tennessee) https://www.instagram.com/p/BmtVkMgA4i3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=60jzt94pmxxw

Got these from some YouTube videos- lower extremity nerve innervation and the parasympathetic and sympathetic ganglions but I terms of anatomy and embryology (which I working on some fun posts about🤗) , someone asked how to review those topics specifically for the comp exam: Read the first few pages of each system in First Aid and listen to boards and beyond videos that go with it, focusing on the congenital malformations and the anatomy attached to them. know the brachial plexus and it’s injuries and the arms and leg nerves and arterials and veins and the INJURies that go with them not just the names but the presentation ! Memorize pg 97 the lymphatic drainage and go to repro and read and “memorize” those charts in the repro section with the arches brachial clefts, that stuff pg 594-609 they will ask a question from page 607 uterine blood flow( they did on both my exams) and , 601-603 know cold (FA 2018) DITs video called embryology in the basic part, all their embryology videos for each system. I like boards and beyond to supplement my first aid reading for anatomy! DIT helps to memorize things because they review it and have those Lewis notes!!! I also go on YouTube and find videos where people have a system to memorize it I like this one for the aortic arches it matches anatomy and embryo it’s a 2 for 1 ! And this is “cut throat” pass comp the first time and I haven’t studied during the semster style of reviewing 😉 Of course you could be more thorough but I talk in this way because you only have time to watch videos and move on ya know 🤷🏾♀️. https://youtu.be/M1-LOHHEmwY #usmleprep #medschoolnotes #anatomy #embrology #nbme (at Knoxville, Tennessee) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bmn6IekgET5/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1dvvr1gcx0oet
