9/10/2025 - Mr. Meaty

Mr. Meaty has a reputation for being that weird, scary show you might've caught a glimpse of while delving into Nickelodeon's secondary channels, and most discussion about it stops there. That's a bit of a shame, because what the show actually is is a pretty decent comedy that is immensely boosted by the fact that it's made with puppets. Puppets are really funny and seeing them get used for slapstick manages to get a lot of mileage all throughout the series. Having the same handful of voice actors really stretch to try and do different funny voices also has its charm too.

I work in a pub and tonight there was a fight and I, a nineteen year old girl, had to physically push a man away from another one.

And then I nearly had a panic attack. And then I cried. And the brownie I bought didn’t get eaten because I was too shaken to have it 💔

Alright, right off the bat today is going to be dominated by two things (because I’m bad at reading and listening) Resident Evil Requiem and The Pitt.

Last night, I saw the second to last episode of The Pitt’s second season. The episodes are named after the hours, I couldn’t tell you what it is. Unfortunately, I don’t think this episode was as good as the episode before it. If you read my entry for last week, I really praised that episode for having a bunch of major character moments and pushed back on my acquaintance who called it a filler episode… Maybe he should have waited a week.

I know. I know. I’ll willingly take those tomatoes being thrown at me (Can you at least throw cherry tomatoes so I can make a salad? I won’t eat it but someone will.). This episode felt like the wheels were spinning. Robby continues to spiral and ignore everyone who makes a comment [even Duke called him out! (best moment btw)]. Santos continues to chart. Everyone else continues to want to clock out and can’t. Night shift continues to kick ass. And Mohan, if that is the last we see of her (disappearing into the elevator to follow Orlando), I will be disappointed. Personally, the episode didn’t work as well for me, but we only have one more left in the season so that might be okay.

Similarly, I don’t have major thoughts on RE9uim. The section I’m in is good, not great. I revisited the RPD, which was a nice little nostalgia trip for a game I played a year ago (I know most people grew up with it, I, alas, did not). I accidentally got spoiled on the Charm’s puzzle so I found all of those, definitely would have missed them if I didn’t look it up. I liked the motorcycle chase, and I cheered when it turned into a motorcycle joust. Though I have no idea if my controller actually controlled anything in that scene. I’m playing on the normal difficulty (modern, I think?) but I felt like the motorcycle was usually starting, stopping, and steering without me needing to. Did anyone else feel that?

bec whatchu mean they gotta push their bodies past its limits and achieve new heights just to win?!

and then they gotta do that again after winning?!?! and yet they fully believe they're gonna win?!?!?!?! every damn time?!?!?!?!?!

yeah, there's no arguing against that. and anyway, it made me realize to turn off my "logical" brain for a hot second

i realized emotions don't just mean feelings, like say, feeling sad, but it also means (1) instinct or gut feeling or hunch, (2) desire or want or wish, and also (3) conviction or belief or faith

(i could be wrong tbh but idc abt that rn)

bec they're all not rooted in logic or observable things. ie there's no rhyme or reason to them. they just are things we feel, that may or may not stem from our experiences in life

and yet, i thought, well, there's a reason we kept them as a species (aka it's useful)

so yeah, in this coming year, 2026, i won't let self-doubt hinder me anymore. i'll just go and do it (and have fun doing it!)

btw if any of y'all wanna watch, it's Medalist, a story abt an 11-yo girl, named Inori Yuitsuka, who wants to become an Olympic figure skater. the catch? she's late to start training

it hits all the self-doubt shit i entertain in my head, and yeah, i know it aint real but like, what the character is going thru is smt real ppl go thru

i watched it on Disney Plus, but it's also on other platforms, so if you wanna watch, go ahead
