Hi! I get to talk about my dnd blorbo and the thoughts that went into her?? (Yuuuss)
So,
This specifically refers to my fey warlock Medb who is a wechselkind (grimhollow setting) which, tldr: she's a small wooden doll that replaced a mortal child. She carries the likeness of the child she replaced and doesn't age. (Kinda trans-autistic of me now that i think of it).
What started out as me just shiping the nut cracker (medb) and the swan princess (nimah) ended in an exploration of toxic codependency between young girls. (Except nimah is an ageless fey swan, but ya kno)
I wanted a layered story where the top coat is a queer fairytale where an outcast teenage girl finds love and belonging and ends up leaving her abusive family.
But bellow the surface you've got a young girl being seduced by a fairy and manipulated into doing horrible things to prove her loyalty, cutting her off from any semblance of humanity.
Basically i created a scenario where that feeling of belonging you get with your girl friends is a litteral pact you can't leave.
Adding some extra spice that it is also a reciprocated romance where both parties are happy. It is just also a fey bargain she can't leave.
Leave your personhood behind and become the relationship - Girlhood in a nutshell.
I just really like turning a mundane experience into cosmic horror i think.
(Also medb is dressed like this at all times but that' mostly a fashion choice).
