Thank you, what a lovely description! I’m very lucky I have a boring-checker (I text pictures of each gown to my friend and time how quickly she says “No”.)

But I think there’s a quality that a gown can have sometimes—maybe just the way we recognize the person-shape of it, the same way we look at art, and almost can’t resist giving it a personality—that does feel a bit magical. I like hunting for pieces that make me feel that, so I’m glad you’re enjoying!

Brandon Tanev

There are a lot of brothers in the NHL, which means that there are a lot of NHLers who are, objectively, the worse brother. I’m always pleased when this is not the case. My favorite Tanev is and will always be whichever one I am currently looking at.

(Also, today I learned the Tanev family are from North Macedonia, and I want to know what town, because I am nosy, but anyway it’s a beautiful place, especially if you like rocks.)

I was told I had to include his curls. Otherwise, yellow isn’t loving Brandon. He looks like he knows, so I won’t harp on it. 

This picture is also afflicted by NHL-quality cameras and lighting, which are unnecessarily harsh on anyone whose face has more color than Crisco. Left to his own devices, he seems to like a lot of purples and pink, which are flattering for a lot of people because they bring out gold tones to make red tones in your face look more consistent instead of washing them out. Also, black skinny jeans.

There’s still a blue or a dusty color to most of those pinks and purples—they’re distinguished, classic men’s suiting colors. The man loves a navy blue sport coat. And to be fair, the fit of his jacket collars, sleeves, and jeans is always pretty good.

I would love if

he could figure out a shirt that’s a bit more fitted around his midsection and doesn’t sag down. Not all the time, but it would be nice to see his waist sometimes. No shade, it’s hard having big tits and a short torso, but things can be done

he took it just a smidge further with bright colors

I want to see the jump from salmon pink to a bright pink or red. I feel like it would be pushing his comfort a bit, but I really think he could swing one of my new favorites, this 1946 dress by Claire McCardell. It’s a pretty simple, slim black column with a big swag of red silk wrapped across the bodice and into a broad red belt at the natural waist, so one shoulder is red and the other black. The wrap makes for a high neckline that I think suits him, and which contrasts with the sleeveless design.

What she actually says in the book is pretty radical, taken to its logical end point. Like, I totally get why some of her clients have looked at their spouses and went "...you do not spark joy" and got a divorce after going through the process with her. But if you've already constructed your life mindfully and carefully, or if you're fairly honest with yourself in general, nothing she says is probably going to surprise you?

Oh man. Imagine the shit Marie Kondo has seen. 

I googled Marie Kondo Divorce because honestly that sounds like popcorn.gif material, but mostly I found people talking about how to get rid of their ex’s shit. And also one REALLY MAD self-help guru who appears to be super upset that Marie Kondo’s “does that spark joy?” is, as a phrase, more popular than all four of her books about how to be happy, combined.

That’s actually a really good point you’re bringing up, thank you. And I hope you don’t mind me answering this publicly, because I think it’s important info to have.

The short answer to both questions is yes. Most people take part in this exchange wanting to receive and also gift Bucky/Tony content, and that is what the exchange is for.

A lot of people will also state in their likes/dislikes that they don’t want to receive a gift that’s strictly pre-slash/pre-relationship, so you need to be prepared to create Bucky/Tony content.

But! There are almost always people who like getting together fics (or art) that are mainly pre-slash/pre-relationship, and I do try to match people with similar interests, likes, and dislikes. And you can always state in your likes/dislikes that you would be happy with/prefer pre-slash/pre-relationship/only friendship content, although you also need to give your gifter a chance to create Bucky/Tony.

To sum up; I can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to match you with someone who wants pre-slash/pre-relationship content, so you must be prepared to create Bucky/Tony content, but the odds are pretty good that it’ll be possible for you to create Bucky&Tony content. You need to give your gifter at least some prompts that can feature Bucky/Tony content, but you’re allowed to state that it doesn’t necessarily have to be Bucky/Tony, and/or you can make some of the prompts pre-slash/pre-relationship/only friendship.

g!p: Stands for Girl Peen or Girl Penis

In femslash works, it’s when someone:

takes a fetishized version of a trans woman’s body and uses it as a vehicle, often to write their trans fetishistic smut and/or pregnancy fetish fics through, though sometimes it’s just flat out a non-sexual combo of compulsory heterosexuality, cissexism, and heteronormativity

discards trans experience from their fics, and writes about our bodies in generally incorrect and/or impossible ways, basically showing zero interest in actually representing us, and full interest in misrepresenting us in ways that are directly tied to physical and sexual real life violence against us, purely to sate their sexual fantasies

(also common, but not always present) attaches their pent up baggage and taboo fantasies about cis men (due to compulsory heterosexuality and toxic masculinity) to the g!p characters, which more or less blatantly casts trans women as  toxic, sexually predatory cis men. As an example, 50 Shades of Grey and Twilight both featured toxic cis men romantic leads that women in society tend to be conditioned to find attractive…some wlw see trans women and our bodies as close enough to manhood and maleness for them to engage in the compulsory het messages they were taught, so they can have that toxic, powerful/dominant, dangerous person with all the associated power dynamics, PiV sex, and potential pregnancy without necessarily compromising their sexuality so long as they accept trans women as women on a surface level

Characters chosen to be the g!p character in the fic tend to be the more masculine of the women, the more aggressive ones, the taller ones, the ones with more power/status, the more violent ones, the ones with more angular features, the darker-skinned characters, etc. I could list more, but the pattern should be fairly clear.
