Though i do have to say, a trans woman as the secret boss for this chapter. The same chapter where transfem ralsei is directly implied, in a game where each chapter's secret boss in some way corresponds to the main characters??? Coincidence??? I think not.

Party's moved on but I'm still stuck on the first episode. Toxic asking Robert, "How do you really feel about your father" and you, as a player, are given three choices that are all canon to Robert as a person;
> Didn't know him well ("he wasn't around much")
> I love my dad (the earlier's "Of course I loved him," comes back)
> He's gone ("...Why does it matter")
And all three says so so much and so little about Robert and his dad. Like they're all valid choices to what Robert feels about him and to want to spend 15 years as Mechaman for him is so heartbreaking, despite it all.
I have so many thoughts about this and I can't even articulate it properly without sounding nonsensical oughhhh
Honestly you gotta give it to castlevania bloodlines' character design like in a game franchise filled with young pretty heroes n sexy villains they commited to having an classical old evil witch and yet her design remains a banger

(Heavy spoilers gang) I will say this (I love the game im gonna be critical of some of the story elments). Mhs3 feels like it suffers from "I think we made this way too serious for the over all message me are trying to convay."
The MC is told to us to be politically naive, doesn't want to be future queen/king, and is all around absorbed in monster studying. They're meant to come off as someone who has detached themselves from people. That they are navie on how the world works and its needs to be correct to a certain extent.
But the backstory that is given does not betray a character who is politically naive (or when it does it kinda leaves you scartching your head a little. Like your not that dumb.) Who has only known this privileges in a kingdom that is prosperous. That you live this cushiony life and could NEVER understand the struggles.
But the reailty of it is; The kingdom fucking hates you. An your father men, the scholar barely tolerate you and when you leave the kingdom to fix/findout about your mother/dead friend and come back. They are openly hostile and put you on not house arrest but its basically house arrest. "its not house arrest, this is for your safety all of you stay here."
Anytime you have flashback to your childhood. After the night you watched your mother get brutalize by your father and all the kings men. An they try to kill your 2 dogs in front of you. You have a vacant stare, that for me reads as disassociation. An that doesn't change, there not a single childhood flashback that doesn't show you lowkey dead on the inside. Devoted to a life of avoiding the throne and your father. The story does nothing to show your father the king diswaying the kingdom or his men from talking bad about his own child.
THAT INSANE FOR A KID TO HAVE TO BARE!!!??
Remember how they have a flashback about Princess/prince going missing. An it Rudy who find you, and its implied Rudy didn't give up looking until late into the night. I mean your fathers men could be looking for you, but the implication that the kingdom does not like you for something your mother did. Seems likely they were only half looking.
Its implied that Simon and the Prince/Princess grew up together fairly young. We also know Simon was basically a spy. Even Simon at the start of the game when someone mentions you being a traitors kid. He tells you not the listen to them, so there is a good chance. (Or somethinf along those lines i can't remember the start of the game its been 100 plus hours) That he has been there for all the time people talk behind your back. The Prince/Princess even mention they still hear people talk shit.
(Shoutout to the post that called Simon tortured.) Simon for being everything that we know, still tells you that you should become the next king or queen. The SPY/ would be traitor is like "hey you should really come into power".
SIMON WHAT DO YOU MEAN!!!??? On top of Simon being your biggest supporter. You hang out with the group of misfits. A women who was from vermil and also orphan. The man who had to BEG the king to be allowed to come back. Admittedly Gual is the best, has the favor as the second in commands son. Who then banish himself but then COME BACK only to then work with the prince/princess that no one likes. Elanor who may as well be a prisoner of would be war. An Ruby the biggest glazer of both the king and prince/princess. This set up is stack agiasnt you for the worse.
WITH EVERYTHING I JUST SET FORTH- It feels like I just explained a subplot to a Fire Emblem game. Than the cute monster collector with a story based around (before this one) friendships and trusting your monster. Plus what happens when the ecosystem is being fucked with. Listen Monster hunter is just you becoming some form of a humanitarian that works to make sure the earth doesn't literally kill you with a gaint dinsour shaped like a pickle.
Then the game realizes at some point "oh this is kinda too dark let lighten it with your side character substories!"
They then swerve once again by PULLING SOME FIRE ELBLEM SHIT and have your dad almost die in your arms. I would bet 20 dollars someone in the room had to stop the writers an go "Maybe don't kill the player characters father who was secertly really caring. Only now while hes at death door can he finally explain himself." As if i'm playing 3 houses again and I watch the MC cry for the first time. BECAUSE it feels like they should have killed your father but- Really whats worse? Dead dad or basically dead mom whos still alive but will never remember you.
This isn't even a critique!! I'm just pointing out how dark the story got and how it feels like it was fighting for its life sometime on what they wanted to do.
What is clear is they wanted a hopeful warm ending. An i certainly believe that theres not enough of that as of late. But got damn-
