I love how, no matter how many times Iāve watched a show, I never remember the murderer. Because itās not about the murderer, or about how the clues fit together, or about how trouble the murder and the people around them are.
Itās about how Sally McMillan desperately wants to follow in her fatherās footsteps, even though it gets her in trouble all the time. Itās about how Mac canāt help but grin at her and kiss her and hug her because sheās āhis nutā.
Itās about how Laura Holt shamelessly flirts with Remington Steele, even though she doesnāt want a relationship. Itās how Remington Steele constantly bickers with Laura, only for them to kiss two minutes later. Itās about how she desperately wants to know more about him, but she also wants to have him be a mystery.
Itās about how Laura Hobson looks after Robbie Lewis. Itās about how they very clearly and very obviously have feelings for each other, but they canāt and wonāt act on it. Itās about how they slowly, naturally, without realizing it start forming a relationship.
Itās about how scared Linda Reagan is, every time her husband walks out the door. Itās about how Danny Reagan assures her theyāll be okay. Itās about how he caresses her face when he kisses her, how sheās always smiling when they kiss. Itās about how, despite two boys and two busy jobs, they still keep the romance alive.
So for me, itās not about the criminals and the crimes. Itās about the people, and who they interact with each other.
