Some interesting concept cars from various manufacturers in the 80’s. Many car designs at this time were attempting to make the vehicle look like it was from the future or another world. Looking back at the designs now, they have their own charm to them that you just don’t have in a lot of new cars. In order of the images we have the Citroën Karin, Audi Quattro Pininfarina Quartz, Ford Cockpit by Ghia, Ford Probe III, and the Mazda Cosmo.

1969 Mazda Cosmo Sport 110 S at the Mazda Classic Automobil Museum Frey in Augsburg (@mazdaclassic). 1.176 units were built 1967–1972, plus 80 pre-production cars. This is a Series II with improved Wankel engine and 128 hp, top speed 200 km/h. Here’s a couple of my favorite BG designs I got to do on Powerpuff Girls. In the storyboards, the scene called for a fancy and rare car dealership. Instead of the usual European cars that most people would go for, I went with my love for Japanese automobiles. I was lucky enough that my dad bought a brand new FD RX7, when they first came out in 1993. So I had to throw it in the scene along with my favorite JDM cars.
