Sad ask
How would your cast react to the distance created between the creator and the cast as the creator has to familiarize themselves with the ever expanding repertoire of characters in genshin. Like how new characters get added
Like how people in genshin use the new popular characters while others collect dust. I still use my ogs every now and then, call me weak but a part of me cant let go day ones. Even if its a terrible starting weapon in a game
Cast aside to collect dust - or left to recover?
SAGAU!Characters' reactions to you spending more time on the new arrivals than them and their respective nations. [7.5k+]
Brief summary tags - SAGAU Worldbuilding, Casual 4th wall breaks, Refernces to content all the way up to 6.7, Oblivious Reader to Character antics. No direct interaction between Reader and characters, but they do try. Not everyone is sad about it... but not everyone is happy with your decisions.
Ah- even just choosing the main cast of “Self-indulgence” to react to this would in itself, have other characters get huffy and upset they're not being questioned, too. So I'll do as many characters as I can since this is a topic I've previously pondered with the SAGAU characters pre-isekai. separated by nations and listed in tags.
oh. Enjou and Jeht are also here too.
Mondstadt - Venti, Kaeya, Diluc, Klee, Mika, Albedo, Sucrose, Razor, Mona, Fischl, Diona, Durin, Prune, Varka, Lohen
Mondstadt itself is not too bothered by your dissappearance, freedom is an aspect all who live under the nation of wind expect and encourage amongst all whom visit their homeland, even if you are their favoured player and guide.
The native Mondt citizens are less inclined to have personal preferences over your whereabouts, content with seeing you randomly appear at the top of the Knights of Favonius headquarters and jump off the edge to glide your way to Barbatos’ statue, climb it and set off a barrage of elemental magic for your silly ‘wishing rituals’ every now and then. even the two fatui members stationed by the cities main transporter are satisfied to see you and your current chosen jump the ledge and dash to Timaeus' station and use his alchemist table. The city of Mondstadt is just happy to know that even with all the new nations that open up before you, old habits are hard to break.
So what if they subtly notify the knights when you arrive to claim your commissions. Maybe if they played a little matchmaker they'd see you switch your current main chosen for one of their elated ones, Varka and Lohen seem to be a little antsy, wanting the prime opportunity to escape the confines of their offices yet they're careful in the way they try to encourage you to let them join the team so soon after becoming yours, already seeing the tired look from Jean and the soppy look Mika gives Lohen after hearing his plights.
They know you'll always return [they pray that you do] for the Windblume festival and the occasional events they host within the nation, they even managed to finally clean up Dorman port for you to visit! and sure, you were rather occupied with the domain at the mountains peak rather than them, but it still allowed them a brief period of having you back [and purposefully messing with your treasure compass so you'd have to spend just a bit longer with them and an exploration team as you'd managed to find a way to upgrade the damn thing in Nod-Krai, it may be petty but it kept you running around their nation that much longer]
Mika and Klee have a tentative relationship with trying to retain your attention whenever you're online AND in Mondstadt, Mika moreso- Klee can easily handle running around and being your DPS, willingly blowing up the crabs on the beaches so you can make that delishcious crabpot buff for them or as she helps you find Calla lilies and Windwheel Asters where Mika finds himself more insecure in being able to keep you safe on these adventures as it depends on if you've spent time with him previously to ensure he can face the horrors across the terrain who mysteriously swell in power when they notice your presence. He's trying his best, but to know he's being upped by other talented vision wielders across Teyvat is a hard thing to accept on a tri week basis.
Diluc and Kaeya have opposite reactions, on one hand Kaeya is much more relaxed the farther you sail off into the distant lands to explore without him, he does not mean to make you feel bad about it, but he enjoys his free days in the city, the lack of stress in ensuring your safety and the lack of responsibility in caring for your well being- He loves to see you, don't get him wrong, he enjoys the rare appearances he has in your life. but no one likes fighting every day of their lives, and he truthfully wishes that one day you'd be able to live without the immediate urge to attack whoever stands in your way! or rudely bringing up his old trailers and doing side by side comparisons... Now, Diluc. He, since the beginning, has been an avid character in your journey and has since tried his best to keep up with the times. He doesn't know how long it's been for you, but for him, it feels like decades since he last was able to stand at your side as your beloved DPS. He always feels one upped by each and every new entry to your roster, he couldn't even call himself the strongest character in Mondstadt anymore [even if it has been many years since he was dubbed that] so watching his stance get farther and farther away from the top in the leaderboard of fate and dealing with the voices from the device on your side of the screen constantly make fun of his appearance makes him frustrated beyond belief and doubtful of his worthiness amongst your ranks.
Albedo, Sucrose, Fischl, Mona, Razor and most recently; Diona are still lapping up the new reactions and upgrades to their abilities, receiving crumbs of attention as you go through and interact with them with the idea of testing their Hexenzirkle buffs [and Stellar conduct]. Diona, Sucrose, Fischl, and Razor have a greater boost to their self-esteem since you are spending time with them, even if its brief.
Diona is still thinking about what her card means and hopes you'll be able to provide her more guidance concerning it, it hit too close to home for her and sees it reflected in the way she views you too. even the thought of you turning from her and abandoning her like how she feels her father had for wine is enough to have her retch with vertigo.
Sucrose is still reeling from the fact her tests came back with a positive- the knowledge that the rules are unstable and that fate is actively changing, would you too change their fate in a way that will leave her wanting? would you cut them from your roster if they do not succeed the way your new units do? these questions run through her mind as of late. Had she been given this buff because fate felt you were looking to truly replace her?
Albedo and Mona are hesitant to entertain the negative thoughts, knowing the double-edged sword being placed in their hands with the boon in power and the tasks given to them by both their respective masters are not a one and done situation. they're not concerned about being left behind, but they are afraid that you'll slowly find them too annoying for taking up space where you new characters 'should' be.
Varka, Lohen, Prune, and Durin are all too fresh to even begin knowing the loneliness of freedom f you entails. Varka has been a name in your ear since the beginning, so he hopes he stays that way. If not, he knows how to make himself known in his own way, chivalry and charm! he'll stand outside the Domain in Nod-Krai you seem to like visiting or go hang out by ms.Glory at the benches until you happen to look up when you rush by to get to the next pod of Philanemo mushroom for sweet little Barbara.
and for last, Venti. He feels that twinge of sadness that comes with saying goodbye every time you leave Teyvat through Celestia's gateway, he reasons he doesn't mind the fact you've long since flown into the horizon without him yet every visit you make back somehow leaves another ache pulse in his chest and ruffles his feathers just enough to have him seek you out the moment your and your chosen step foot in the nation, eager to pluck tunes on his lyre and follow you at a distance.
Liyue - Zhongli, Yun jin, Xin yan, Xingqiu, Xiangling, Xiao, Xianyun, Ganyu, Baizhu and Qiqi
In Liyue, it is a tradition to give you a wide berth whenever you enter the nation of contracts, a law signed near the birth of the prestigious nation by the Tianquan of that age and Morax himself. “Do not overbear- Do not overwhelm.” are fundamental restrictions placed upon Liyuen citizens and told to abide the moment they hear tales of your presence within the Traveller and your following chosen acolytes. “Arrive only when hailed. Present yourself with pride for only those worthy may be allowed guidance.”
Zhongli has always been one to recite his beloved rites, an altar lit and a shrine etched in cor lapis and noctilucous jade with his head bowed- a gesture he knew wasn't needed but one he still wanted to offer. He knows he'll always be someone you will revisit, whether it be by the fate of the world or by your own choice. Zhongli has weathered against the tides of time and is still well within your ‘meta’ with his shield and elemental shredding no matter how badly you build him, even recently receiving a massive boon since the true moon had fallen within reach once again. So, no, Zhongli doesn't face your silence with fear or loneliness. He sees it as a test of his faith. After all, permenance is an attribute he inhabits.
His accolades, however, are not as sturdy against the test of time and are much more susceptible to the erosion of hope. The sadness that fills the hearts of the human souls like Yun jin or Xin yan when they don't feel your pull at a concert they've worked really hard on is about to start or during their lows where they're patiently awaiting for you to call upon them. It's hard for normal, everyday citizens who don't necessarily have mind numbing, action packed lives - they feel that prick of jealousy when you decide to play your new beat game without input from the musically inclined. They would never outwardly admit the jealousy and hide it expertly in the rare moments you do arrive for them.
Xingqiu and Xiangling are constantly trying their best to keep up with the meta themselves. they have had a natural bonus since the beginning and know they're some of your earliest units [and therefore have you emotionally attatched] that have consistently stayed in select teams at your whim. They sweat each and every time a new support is announced to you through the mailing system and pray to the late Geo archon that the new units are not hydro or pyro supports that render them useless - or they pray that the new materials are difficult and tedious to collect as Glaze lilies and Violetgrass bundles are and that Yanfei assists by not marking your map of the locations for you.
Xiao, Xianyun and Ganyu are all rather used to the painful wait when it comes to being acknowledged by peers and figures of authority that they regard in high positions be it because of the stress of war or due to the drag of life so seeing you meeting new and improved units of power are like a fact of life for these three. It's an even more normalised reaction for Moon Carver, Mountain Shaper, and Madame Ping as these three have only bore witness to you guiding your acolytes. For them it’s a needed procedure to ensure the peace of Liyue. the more accolades you accept, the better the outcome will be in the war that approaches.
Baizhu can't help but believe it's karma for having you wait so long for him and that his true downfall is simply having a weak constitution that is unable to withstand your endgame challenges. He sees the lost look on Qiqi's face when she’s quickly disregarded when she appears in your wishing showers and somehow knows that if even the small immortal healer is being turned away, that it may just not be in either of their fates to ever seek an audience from you or be kept at your side permenantly- until a new glimmer follows Qiqi after the two go to visit patients in Chenyu vale, the zombie reappearing with a melusine officer and a curious card clutched in her hands. He knew then that something was brewing in the distant nations and that you were just around the corner, watching - waiting for when something changes.
Inazuma - Raiden Ei, Yae Miko, Mizuki, Itto, Kuki Shinobu, Kujou Sara, Heizou and kokomi
Inazuma is the land of Eternity, and change had been a topic that challenged that ideal. You are in a sense, a threat to that national identity even if you are revered, with the way the Raiden shogun had been frozen in her resolve that led to the sakoku decree. Its citizens both yearn for your presence but are still hurt by the lack of it during those few years of tyranny that they also feel fine with you being distracted by other nations of fancy. a blessing and an omen, you are regarded with hesitant care
Ei sees you with the utmost reverence, someone to aid her struggles with her nation. you give her powers she hadn't considered before and break a few of the locks the Heavenly Principles had placed upon her so seeing you so blatantly glaze other electro blessed characters feels insulting when she, electro incarnate, should be your top unit of the element. experiencing a dismissal from a god like you is new to her. Previously, it was her sister doing so and in an entirely joking manner, a familial gesture, but with you? it sends cracks through her porcelain carapace that she is sure the Raiden shogun feels crackle through their shared joints. she can only hope you see favour in her once more and not judge her so harshly for her faults.
Yae Miko and Mizuki are both easy with your dalliances with others. Yae is used to waiting so doing the same for you is not an unfamiliar trek she'd be willing to trod in the pursuit of greatness. Bidding her time has favoured her greatly in recent years, she's been in contact with you, she's received the best of idea for future novels, Ei has emerged from her euthymia and the fates have given her such an interesting elemental enhancement when she is in proximity to you - so she's in no rush, go play with your new toys while she laughts at Eis' misery. Mizuki understands humans to a greater extent than most humans do themselves so she can see why you may stray from the path of electro and away from her reaching hand. She is considered a ‘common 5 star’ so why reach for her when you know that one day you'll end up in her grasp one way or another? an unfortunate pull will give her all she needs.
“Oh! Yeah so we can go see the beatles this- oh, no? not tonight? ah- okay! we can go tomorrow then! n-no? uhm, oh… we can reschedule sure sure broski…” Poor poor Itto is floundering and ultimately so hurt by the casual dismissal you give him as you favour other characters when he is right there willing and waiting to bat your foes halfway across the map. He's even willing to glitch the game for you just to see your surprise once again as he flings an unfortunately placed hilichurl into the static ocean field with little thought behind those red eyes of his. but even if you do make your way back to him he'll still have that hurt in his head swirling, doubtful that you really care about him outside of his strength, he's seen the pattern and he's not as dumb as people- as you've commented he is
Kuki remains more composed during these times, she does feel a pang of empathy for Itto though, organises for him and the gang to hang out more frequently to have him occupied until you are free to take him or her out for events and whatnot. She doesn't dare mention to him her disappearances as you call for her when you need her elemental skill to boost your dendro or hydro teams.
Sara and Heizou don't see themselves as put out by your avoidance, busy lives that don't just go away if you're called upon by a God beyond the screen who doesn't know how to plan around their own timezones to ‘play’. Kokomi doesn't know whether or not to be offended or relieved either. She knows with her negative Crit stat that the likeliness of you bringing her out to fight is never in question, she at least likes to think you find her healing useful- surely none of those new guys have that innate affinity towards healing, right?
Sumeru - Nahida, Wanderer [Kintsugi], Kaveh, Al-haitham, Dehya, Candace and Faruzan
Sumerian consensus says that 80% of the city population has a natural disregard towards Gods and mystical figures outside of their scopes of interest. So, it should be conclusive that your Sumerian characters also share the generalised opinion? No, they [mostly] make up the last 20%. In the nation of Wisdom it would be an affront to not wish to be participants of your guidance, you are the one source of freely given information from beyond their shortened worldview so to have you willfully abandon them for others is like whiplash. are they so boring and uneventful that you'd look elsewhere for that entertainment? they'd all need to put their backs into researching why, where, when, who, and what exactly you yearn for so they can monopolise your attention once more
Nahida is the most calm during the mental breakdown her citizens have over this conundrum. Probably because she would be doing the same- your exploration and providing gifts to new members are not due to questioning any of their faith, it is simply the evolution and development of the world you see. She's rather happy to see you want to interact with new people, new acolytes and not restrict yourselves to them out of pity and guilt. She spends her time drifting amongst the dreams of your Sumerian accolades and tries to aid them in seeing her viewpoint to some or little success.
If it had been his prior self, Wanderer knows for a fact that he would have razed the earth beneath your chosens feet and struck you in an eternal thunderstorm, glitching out your game until you had no other choice than to switch him into your party. your ignorance would have registered as another betrayal but he's mellowed a lot since then, learnt that as mystifying as you are as a being behind the screen, you are still painfully human and seeking more is just in your nature. He's butthurt that he is not your first choice, and doesn't let it show on his face when you get frustrated and do eventually bring him on to fetch something just out of reach that you can't use Chiori or Al-haitham to fling yourself up to grab on your own.
Kaveh is inconsolable when his drunken chants to ‘pleeeease let him join you! please!’ fall on deaf ears, he thinks you're doing it on purpose and that you don't like him anymore. Even if you have him in a named team slot dedicated to him and his friends, even if you solely only ask him to help you build furniture and structures in your teapot. he is still going to marinate in loud anguish that you hate him enough to find newer, younger dendro users to fight with. When Kaveh sobers, he's still just as inconsolable, but this time because of embarrassment for being caught acting so juvenile.
Al-Haitham stews in silent judgement. He loathes the fact that you had not allowed him to join your expeditions into the deserts to explore Al-ahmars’ Temple with you when the percentage was low because now he knows youll never return to them and let him trail along with his notebook and kamera. His feelings are petty, miniscule in the grand scheme of emotions from the other side of the house, but they all build up in the end. He doesn't mind you seeking others to find companionship in, he'd be hypocritical if he objected to your wanting to learn more about Teyvat, he can be sore about not being able to do it with you though.
Dehya is still reeling from her failed tenure as your hyped up DPS and with no enhancements or support in sight to cater to her unique skill set, she's practically resigned to being seen only in the background so her attention to who you're picking and choosing no longer phases her after the 3 years. Candace and Faruzan both try to encourage her, but that's to no use. By now, she's used to it, and she's not expecting anything more than that outside of helpless dreams beneath searing sands.
Talking about Candace and Faruzan, they're both much more hopeful when it comes to earning your gaze, Candace sees you frequently in the Theatre domain seeing as hydro is the most frequently appearing element you have access to when fighting. Faruzan also makes her mark there and does her best to carry your mains even if they don't give her the respect she rightfully deserves. They’re not so keen on the cocky newbies who are so willing to fight tooth and nail for scraps of your attention but they are up to the challenge to humble them with the fact that your supports usually outlast DPS's
Fontaine - Furina, Neuvillette, Clorinde, Chevruse, Charlotte
Fontaine is the hotspot of socialite drama so of course knowledge of your ins and outs will be at the top of the daily newspapers. Charters made of who is the most used accolade, statistics made on the crit stats of your top 15 mains and the stars recorded to tally how much you're willing to spend and on who. Fontainians find it to be the utmost fascinating thing to take note of even if your actual accolades dread hearing the crowds chatter when they emerge from their homes. They all flip flop between being offended and that they aren't the center of your attention to “oh, no, I should let them be, It's not like it's set in stone. hahah!”
Furina has had enough of being in the spotlight of dramas in her life and paying attention to whether or not you actively chase after her is tiring. yes, she yearns to be someone you love and care for, to be who you give 5 star artifacts and her weapon of choice despite her never using it previous to her becoming one of your acolytes. She's used to it being a mantle piece, a mere display prop never to be used, but she guesses it was always supposed to be chekhovs gun for a reason. She is not opposed to your averted gaze anyhow. It gives her time to breathe, time to see you also as a human being rather than omnipotent.
Neuvillette is a soft-hearted dragon who, at his core, misses your presence more than anything. he's used to being the strong ‘top 3’ characters on your roster alongside Arlecchino and Al-haitham but it may have slipped his mind to keep up the position so by the time he'd turned to tell you about the newest batch of water samples he'd received, hes surprised to have not seen you slink away, the harbinger ‘Damselette’ seemingly replacing his position as defacto archon of their given nation with hydro catalyst powers comparable to his own. showers litter the whole of Fontaine for days on end, not so hard that people actively seek shelter or put out flood warnings, but it's unnatural enough for the citizens to start to question why there is an unending mist blanketing them.
Busy bodies Clorinde and Chevruse are not conflicted with whatever outsome you provide for them. They appreciate the sparse affection you passed along to them in the beginning of their introductions to the narrative and are relieved when you don't take it upon yourself to actively call them while off duty [or even when they are on duty] since denying you is not something they can do or permit at the best of times. They've all just recently gotten used to being able to block access to certain quests by triggering other ones and knowing you, avoiding doing those pop ups are more likely to be the case than continuing dragging them along for the ride.
Charlotte has to be the one most passive-aggressive about it all and not because you're ditching her for new and remarkable people of interest. It's because she's not there investigating with you. Not only do you find the most hidden of spaces, but you somehow manage to track down leads and clues to all sorts of long-lost historical sites and complete abandoned commissions on a whim! looking into these things are sort of her whole thing, y'know?
Natlan - Mauvika, Kinich, Ajaw, Citlali, Ororon, Kachina and Xilonen
In Natlan, you're both celebrated and banned. everyone wants a chance to be chosen, to be gifted with guidance by the player just to see how you would improve them, but they're all a competitive lot within the phlogiston laced lands that if you were to bless them, they'd likely be banned from events cross country out of fairness to the other competitors. but the numbers of chosen individuals amongst the natlanese are far and few in between tribes so for the time being, everyone is stuffed full of wanting to keep you entertained and focused on them. They're still considered new, what with the mechanics they bring to the table but with your growing ire to the mechanical constructs strewn across the nation and their [in your opinion] frustrating boss requirements it may be a harder sell.
Mauvika just knows from the way you fight with her on your side that you are not enjoying the way her people's trials are formatted compared to what you're used to, she has the others reporting that you're not even bothering in attempting their test trials every triweek star sequence. to say she's saddened by the news is an understatement even if the two of you know her power output far outranks your older units. You're still kind to her when she is released, you never make it feel like it's any of their fault but sometimes that unknowing demeanor hurts just as much as if you knew what you were doing.
Kinich has much more important things to worry about than wondering when or where you'll call for him next, capturing bounties and completing the commissions set out for him to keep him occupied so he's not thinking about it… Ajaw on the other hand. Kinich would say hes gotten used to the dragons’ squawking but after hearing him day in and day out of arguing over the fact that you've chosen someone over him is ear piercing, he's even considered going to the stadium and idling by the alchemy podium on the off chance you'll cash in your commissions there for once so he can shut Ajaw up.
Citlali would be explosive in her mindscape, territorial to a fault and all entirely encased in her own whirlwinded scenarios she's painted in her head. She misconstrued innocent comments as barbed jabs, interpreting harmless gestures as feigned care and it all carves deep wounds into that fragile heart of hers. Ororon of all people does his best to help her but he’s no better when trying to rationalise you seeking other characters [better characters] and while he is content as forever living as a support when you need continual electro reactions he fears Citlali isn't so satisfied with being your cryo shielder and applicator alone.
Kachina sort of drags herself along if she's under the belief you're purposefully not asking her to join your team. She was sooooo excited to play- to train! with you and the traveller… but psh- it's fine!. please dont pay attention to the way her ears are pinned back to her head or the teary eyes she gives you as she says those things, she's trying to reassure you it's fine. [It’s not fine, she doesnt know what she's done wrong, she doesnt understand the way the system works, what do you mean by weak crystalised reactions?]
Xilonen thankfully takes the reigns and carries her back to the heart of the children of echoes for Pacal to take over while the girls' parents are out. she wants to chastise you for it all but she’s aware that you're none the wiser about their troubles, she can hear your nonsensical mumblings as you play, because really how are you supposed to know that they are actively reacting to every small thing you say and do in your alone time? she thinks of you broadening your horizons to be a good thing and can't help others may think differently.
There's hesitation with all the natlanese characters when it comes to fights where the system makes you employ them for their nightsoul blessings and they don't know whether to be thankful for the automatic consumption of your time that they've been allocated. paired with the amount of events that they're hosting, they should feel relieved to see you so frequently but they can't help the shudder from the lingering prickles of exhaustion that comes from your chosens aura and the beads of sweat falling from their forehead as they are made to approach when the event consists of elements you're not too pleased to have to deal with in order to get your rewards.
Nod-Krai - Columbina, Flins, Aino, Ineffa, Nefer and Jahoda
Nod-Krai had always been an Amalgamation of differening opinions where misfits and rejects congregate for the self preservation of their exiled and native communities but they're lso too new to the roster to even know what it means to be left to the wayside by the player guide of creation. they've heard all about the Traveller and the presence they cart around like a lingering ghost
Columbina from the very beginning found you to be interesting, The traveller is a known variable [as described to her by the doctor] but you hold such remarkable talents outside of their range of knowledge, to know you're such an interest to him and the Tsaritsa is unsettling. every opportunity where she can drag the traveller away from your gaze, to whisper things into his ear, and have you not hear it makes her giddy. the moment you receive her stars through your wishing showers, she may let up in that distrust. so long as you keep the traveller and her friends safe from harm, she doesn't mind being your new interest.
Flins is more or less the same. He doesnt mind being your new play thing, the tasks you give him are not unlike the ones he already conducts as an active lightkeeper of the area although he does regret giving you too much freedom with his duties as you somehow find ways to rope in his comrads- taking quests over in Piramida where he most definitely should not be or you have him run circles in the frostmoon scions pilaging their bounty of moonfall silver and frostlamp flowers. it earns him too much attention, especially when you have him do it so brazenly during the daylight hours
Ainos upset but not for the reasons the question poses. she's happy to see Ineffa go out and make friends! most definitely - but could you at least return her home every night? she misses having ineffa tuck her into bed and read her her bedtime stories, with Uncle Varka or Auntie Lauma making the visit to do so in her place, i-it just doesn't feel right. and since you make many frequent visits, even if it is to go see Knuckle Duckle and fight him for spare parts, so apart from missing Ineffa, she has no complaints [yet.]
Nefer is an enigma. She will do her hardest not to get put onto your team for obvious reasons as she's glimpsed the greed that comes with a collectors obssesion you’ve been said to have, she genuinely wonders how you manage to provide for yourself with the amount of mora you spend in alchemic transfussions alone. a hypocritcal take on her behalf but she couldnt care less about that when she sees the distances you drag your units in a days span, as an employer all she's considering is the cost of how much of her time you've racked up and what she'll bill you the next time you even think about using her to gain access to the extra funds in her office.
Jahoda likes the idea of joining you on your expeditions, but no, she's too tied up with her job at the curatorium to be able to freely leave her station. thankfully after years of your presence among Teyvat there are systems put in place for vision users who are called away by the whims of the player, the fact you're seen as a higher being is nothing short of a miracle in all their eyes as it gives them plausible deniability
From the Stars and Beyond - Aether, Paimon, Lumine
Not much can be said where Aether [your Traveller] and Paimon are concerned. even when they're not apart of your four character party- they're still ever present in the background doing the odd jobs to make your time playing go smoother, the brief flashes of their bodies appearing to take the place of your current main to collect your dues from Katheryne to the random quests you pick up along the way. You couldn't get rid of these two even if you wanted.
Paimons a little bitter each time you decide shes being too vocal, and skip through her dialogue or turn of the character voices because she knows she's getting side eyed by the rest of the party since it cuts off their ability to hear you mutter responses to them. she forgives you when you eventually turn it back on, and she gets to hear you respond to her dialling up her voice in the menu.
Lumine as the Abyss Princess in this timeline loathes every new edition to your archive. she, out of all your accolades, knows exactly how you work, how you function, when you're likely to arrive at the game, and how long you'll stay. She makes detailed records of your playtime and tracks all the materials you farm for so she can predict your every move. why? because she needs to understand where and when things go wrong, what step along the way caused her timeline to shatter and for you [and her to an extent] to be dragged into this new ‘server’. Her friends are awaiting her return, your true acolytes, she just knows it. after she discovers how to return to her original server with you and her brother in tow, maybe things will finally settle, and you can all leave Teyvat once and for all.
Fatui/Snezhnaya - The Tsaritsa, Tartaglia, Lyney, Lynette, Freminet, Arlecchino, Dottore [Datattore], and Pantalone
The Fatui has rules to uphold, The Tsaritsas will is final, set in the permafrost. To doubt the player is to doubt her majesty and she can't have that, now can she? The Tsaritsa sees your increased interest in her and her nation, after years of your life spent waiting for crumbs of her you finally have her in your sight. she receives reports on your increased screentime, the actions of pre farming materials she'd been informed ascends even the plainest of humans into something that can counter Gods. your love for this game transends time and space, life and death. She anticipates your arrival more than you could ever expect.
The Fatui are terrified of you. scared shitless. Not one meagre member has been able to face your relentless parties across the nations. In the beginning, it had been laughable how new you were to it all- The Tsaritsa had claimed you to be an almighty, yet all you could do was create a tiny breeze through the Traveller. oh how they wish they could take back their retorts as now they face this souped up mega threat capable of taking down the second harbinger [tremors were felt the day the news came in of the doctors defeat at the hands of the Traveller and by association; you. They hadn't anticipated the mad man to actually lose.] but it is in their blood to continue serving her majesty even if they know they were to surely fall. its a sense of pride to know that they tried and that they'd served their country to the very end- being known to have been slain by the great Traveller is also not a bad thought, less if it was the Traveller in his earliest mondt era.
Tartaglia would be fuming. Not only does he have the dissonance of having to be witness to you continually fighting and winning against his foul legacy form [which he will forever argue about the fact that the Leyline disruption doesn't capture his true power- that he was holding back in that fight on purpose] but he also has to watch as you receive access to people who are by far weaker than him but are claiming to not be? He's offended by the blatant lies in powerscaling and doesn't understand the differences between having them fight him in real life vs. when you're guiding them. He sees it as false strength and implores you to not ‘use’ him even though he wants to see you every day of your life. It's a challenge for him. He hopes Snezhnaya will allow him to be able to meet with you on equal ground. and to prove he's stronger - dont get him started on the fact the harbingers in training may even succeed his rank
Within the house of the hearth, it has become a tradition of sorts to hold a vigil for you, vision users amongst the organisation more encouraged to participate to invite you into their hearts. Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet have never believed in that, and for good reason, they've seen the way you don't pick them for their faith or eagerness to be seen. Arlecchino had continually mentioned to them the true reason you were here for them, that it was all a game the Gods were playing. So, seeing you ‘play’ with their friends and lead them around Fontaine, the three can't help but feel hesitant and relieved when you find interest in the new characters. Lyney warms up to you as you have him guide you around simply looking for Rainbow roses, Conches for Freminet and Lumidouse bells for Lynette.Tthe fact that you hardly give him much attention outside of those moments allows him to guiltlessly keep you at arms length.
“Hmn? Oh- It seems even your favourite ‘NPC's are getting the backlog with these new… parasites to your account. such a shame, my dear - a terrible choice indeed.”
Amongst those within the Fatui Harbingers that have tasted the crumbs of your guidance, Dottore would be furious. It the end days of his last segment's existence did he finally manage to feel that creeping tight embrace of being puppeted by you in the damp sanctuary of surasthana as he conversed with Pantalone, that clawing feeling tearing out questions from his throat was one he'd never felt before and likely will never feel again.
He couldn't even alt out of the stiff responses he gave until after that golden light had fled, and he knew Feofan was suspicious too. Whispering his theories he couldn't help but recall the way Tartaglia had described being under your control, or the progression that Arlecchino had described to him when they'd been told to record the results of being a character of the player. He couldn't help the deep-seated anger that boiled in his now crystalised leyline veins that it felt exactly how that blast from Columbina did during their last battle in Nod-Krai. How dare you call upon him in his last moments, where had you been a year earlier when he'd sat recovering from his stint in Sumeru, where had you been when the Akedemiya had shunned him for their worthless catering to the principles? calling for his attention this late into the game will not do you any good, he's long since accepted his position as a villain and the ultimate goal to entice the Heavenly Principles down from their perch in the sky for the Tsaritsa and he won't let you come in the way of it now.
Pantalone had noticed the way Dottore had sauntered, it could have been his new forms deficiencies, it could have been his eyes playing up due to the sands kicking up in the old prison. He could catch onto the doctors hidden words weaved so that he and the glitch would remain uninterrupted but whether he could tell it was you faintly coming through, he'd never be able to tell without verbal affirmation. Pantalone doesn't know how to feel about you at this point. Does the traveller's power come naturally, and you are just along for the ride, or is he simply a vessel for your evergrowing power? what to you is just a game, is he to be made one of your units? If he were to be honest, he wished never to become one of your toys.
+ Extras - 'Enjou', Jeht and Rerir.
The thing that calls itself 'Enjou' is quite curious as to what is considered to be traits worthy of your attention. Myths and legends write about Gods like you, yet you still hold a sort of human disposition about everything. Sometimes, as it watches you run in circles trying to figure out the day and night cycle puzzles down in Enkanomiya, it sees you as just that, a human, until you come across a herd of vishaps and release your teams full strength against what it would say is overkill. it's used to watching you pick at your enemies, slowly making their health tick down infavour of ‘saving’ your teams bursts for… well, it’s not too sure, sometimes you use them on the random groups of ruin guards and sweep them off the islands in seconds then there are times where you use them as batteries to recharge your precious accolades. It's terrifying if it's being honest, but as is all beings in Teyvats' fate is destined for in this age, Meeting you and communicating with you is a part of its's design. A battle? ah- well. it hopes it's able to glitch the system to be able to run before you're capable of getting it down to its second phase. [or to somehow switch your team to a full pyro set so you become soft locked and unable to defeat it]
The desert has many differences in the way their religious befiefs are carried and traded, Jeht is intrinsically inclined to relay that information to the traveller to her inner most surprise. Her father had turned to her when she burst out with that explanation that had the traveller and Paimon nodding away and thanking her for the information. it was odd. She'd somehow felt a sense of familiarity with him but she knows she'd never met him before- after her father sacrafice things becomes more clearer, The Traveller revealed to be an emmisary for the creator [Though she's confused when he tries to challenge the title, hearing him refer to you as the player felt disrespectful even if he is your spokesperson.]. it's in the subsequent battles that she starts to feel you become prevalent in her life. whispers of divine wisdom, flashes of green spotting the sandy surfaces that dont poison, but heal her- its all so weird. the Traveller is weird. and to make it all the worse, she has to deal with that Djinni who can't seem to keep her metaphorical mouth shut. It's fine, that blonde haired lady in the starry white dress at least eases her worries.
Rerir has an ongoing war in his mind surrounding your choices of acolytes. he can't seem to understand ‘why now’ and not then? surely, with your abilities, you could have countered the Heavenly Principles and defeated them. you've faced Gods and creatures far stronger than the inhabitants of Teyvat. could you not have shown that prowess against the threat that destroyed a whole civilisation? its pathetic- he's pathetic for even thinking the worst of you when he knows for a fact that you wouldn't have won. He - the weakest of the 5 sinners had almost pummeled you had it not been for collective efforts by your accolades, even the Doctor nearly won his bouts against you both times but didn't because of that one excruciating factor. ‘Friendship’. Collaboration is an important feat that the principles acknowledged when facing intruders and sinners alike. you would have not been able to unite what was left of Khaenri’ah in those last days of theirs, there wasn't enough time to- but here and now, forging alliances between nations, befriending every single available potential acolyte, he knows now that fighting alone and being a sacraficial lamb is the quickest way for a nation to perish.
