This is my first Fic I've posted in 10 years, I am by no means a professional; art or writting wise. This is a labour of Love for me and of course; Self-Indulgent.
Every Update i will wait until 2/3 weeks until I start including new lore into the fic if its a major lore drop or Archon quest to give everyone the abilty to catch up and to avoide spoilers - I usually do the quests immediately to counter it myself and to start rumiating on how to incorporate it into my fics

I am currently going in and out of the hospital for my vision and other illnesses, that is something that will affect the timeframes of everything as i live on a farm away from any major city, some days i spend colouring in the art, and others i spend writing if i can read it- it all depends on how my vision is that day and the side affects of the medication I'm on that is present at any given time
This also means I may be gone for a period of time, if something bad were to happen, I do have a family member with ccess to this account that i have told to release what WIPs i had left and open the account to whomever
It will not get to that point, so there should be no fear.
I take everything as advice first and foremost, so any constructive criticism is accepted and encouraged!

Todays Update - Above include the first time drawing the four; Columbina, Aria, Canon, and Sonnet as a warm-up! Below is the very first draftings of Nibelung not based on anything specific - they were mostly blank prototypes with some dragon features i knew i wanted to include, any furture design will have some components but for now Nibelung will also stay a blank anon base as depicted in the Moon sisters and Nibelung art i did a few months ago until i finish it, unexpectedly the Heavenly Principles came first.
Todays update - January sketches of Al-haitham, Kaveh, and Nahida from the fic! Recently, I've been watching a lot of CyYu [Cyno's EN VA] alongside the Tres Leches crew [Al-haitham EN VA and Kaveh EN VA] - their newest Uno Vod was hilarious with the addition of Flins' EN VA, so i will be doing something based on that

The General Headcanons
For the Heavenly Principles, i will be using They/them to refer to them since that is how the game refers to them so far.
However, it is still debatable whether or not they are an Aeon level type of God. For now, I won't use the capatalised THEY/THEM that is used when Reader, Aether, or Lumine refer to the Gods from outside of Teyvat.
The Heavenly Principles name will be shortened to 'HP' or simply as 'Celestia' in future chapters

Following the Timeline to Present
Eventual Obsession Hate/Hate Relationship
It starts as a one-sided infatuation, idolisation of the remnants of a long gone Aeon of legend, hearing about your legacy as the orginator of Teyvat.
coming to Teyvat and becoming its new God had been thrilling, the creatures below all looking up to them in abstract fear and disdain.
Their form is one of a dying star, a mere twinkle in comparison to the black hole that you encaptured.
Then, hearing of the purpose of Teyvat and what it had been created for, they brought forth the human race, introducing the emerging and endangered people onto the land like it was a daycare drop off
The accidental desaturation of light was not intended. They could feel the planet slowly lose its connection to you as your energy dispersed and waned.
The humans they introduced began pollution the planet with their presence alone
But there were a few sources of renewable light to balance the effect they had brought forth
it was enough to keep the peace.
Meeting with the Moon sisters, kin of your lineage was... memorable. it was a short battle. the three women easily overpowered by their abilities and their shades.
"What-" Canon said shakily, glaring up at the five towering figures "what do you want from us?"
Aria was unconscious, and Sonnet... Canon gulped seeing the cruel state her sister was in
The Heavenly Principles looked down emotionless, face unmoving but their eyes staring ominously
"Information." their voice boomed into her head, Canon cried out at the noise and flinching back. The Heavenly Principles leaned down, grabbing the woman by her neck and having her dangle in the air. she kicks her legs out in protest, scratching at the hand and arms, but it does nothing. They have no soft flesh, no skin - just a dense, tough layer of pearlescent cartilage.
"-Tell me about the Dragon King." she chokes as the hand squeezes tighter. "Tell me of the one who created this planet."
The Heavenly Principles had the three sisters on a tight leash after that first transgression. they couldn't bear to have you angered too much should you return to Teyvat in your next lifetime.
The Heavenly Principles were satisfied with what they had learnt - that while, yes, you were technically dead. your soul had gone off elsewhere to reincarnate in an unending cycle of life and death across time and space
They laughed at the irony
Sending the shades across the planet to establish the boarders, closing off the humans from wandering too far into the dragons nests, dubbing the oceans cut off point as the dead sea. erecting impassable snowstorms, volcanic trenches, a field of tornadoes, and electrified barens to keep everyone within their sight.
Like a terrarium, yes. Their perfect little sandbox. something they fully believed you'd agree with.
They had the shades dig up any and all information about you from the humans and creatures that roamed the planet.
they all coveted you even as they had tried to take over as the main belief system. you were just that influencial.
This is where things take a turn in their attatchment for you. it becomes more twisted and personal.
They held information about you that the common people of the lands didn't. They were close to your kin, and they held your creation in the palms of their hands. all they needed now was for you to return. so they pulled the stars from the sky, created the firmament, and concentrated the glittering stars into wishes
They... lost their 50/50.
Nibelung returns to Teyvat.
War was the only thing they could think of as response to his aggressive front
He was not you. He was not the Dragon King they wanted.
The Funerary War felt trivial.
Sure, many had died, fallen by their hand or his- they couldn't tell. all they knew was that Nibelung had taken your [his] kin and had them executed [sealed] for colluding with them
The shades had all voiced their pain as the two moons shattered, the third flung out of orbit, and the sky sealed with a fake put in its place
Then it came down to his death
The Heavenly principles stood vigilant atop of the beastly man. Over the years of their battle, he'd been wittled down bit by bit. a new order had been established, and the rules were to be upheld. the slow transition that he and many others had been forced to partake in for going against them granted them such pleasures untold
"Do you like your new body?" They taunted "It is nice, no?"
Nibelung spits at them, it doesnt fly far from his position on the ground, and he growls as they press down harder with their hoof into his chest.
being ageless was a blessing. It granted them the ability to watch as he converted into a human against his will, a curse that had affected the other dragons too, some more than others
"You-" Nibelung coughs, blood spurting from his mouth and onto the marbled hoof, gold falling between the cracks "You won't win"
"Hah." they laugh humourlessly, "I already have."
"They will return one day." he spits "And you will not be welcomed with open arms- they will reject your rule, they will know your cruelty"
"What cruelty?" they say. "Teyvat is a sanctuary. These humans were lost, dying. is it not right to open that sanctuary to those in need? is that not your purpose!"
they stamp their foot in his chest again inflicting more pain
"I am their saviour. Who are you to judge me?" they hiss, crouching down to cup the mans human face, "you left. and I took your place. you have no reason to be here, nor should you have come back"
"You brought poison!" he counters. "The humans have no light! they drain the planet like useless sponges!"
"and so do you." their grip on his face tightens. "You willingly brought The Abyss here. nothing can live in its presence -"
"A lie!" he thrashes around, trying to get free. "There are worlds where they flourish with it"
"The humans will die"
"But we won't." his eyes flash dangerously "we can survive it"
"You're infected, Lord Nibelung." they drop his face and lean away in disgust as his eyes begin leaking black. "You have succumed to it, allow me to cleanse you of such filth"
he hacks up more blood. This time, the ink is vomited up alongside the gold. "You know nothing of purification. you are not a real star like them"
The Heavenly Principles hold out their hand, allowing a large blade to fall into their palms to which they raise high, a shadow falling over his face and creating a ring behind their figure, a halo illuminating the fear on his face
"There are other ways to cleanse the earth."
The war was over, but Teyvat had fallen into a state of disarray. which left them no choice but to put all their faith into its collective trust in you
Instead of having the people fall see them as their God, they would simply make you infalliable.
Calling you the Creator was almost too easy
changing the remaining nations' perspective of them and their shades had been hilariously simple whennit came to the humans since they lived such short lives and held far less individuality, they were dependant on the Gods and what they could provide.
The Fae and Dragons were complicated. but they, as well as any elemental creature with a brain, had learnt from the events of the funeary war to not be so vocal with their protests
if they could win with just the army of angels, the shades, and the Heavenly Principles - the different clans dreaded the devestation they could now commit with the humans on their side
the Heavenly Principles had so brazenly taken their leaders and distorted their images
painting Nibelung as filth, a curse, and the eventual end of Teyvat; an eminator of 'Destruction'
and turning you into a mysterious martyr, a figure to worship, someone to praise; 'The Creator'
The creation of the thrones had come in quick succession. funnelling the humans devout credence to fuel their own abilities the five spend the next centuries creating an even bigger lie, snuffing out any insignificant flames that attempt to riot or reveal their deceptions
They feel no regret in the death of the moon sisters or the death of Nibelung by their own hands
They had hoped that when you return that, you will see their efforts in creating a perfect world
And how i made the design for them :] There are many more Headcanons I've got stored for The Heavenly Principles across the ages - Adjustments will be made if we eventually see them too! but this is how they will be depicted with the SAGAU Fic
And to the usual few who are also theorycrafters of genshin - how do y'all view The Heavenly Principles? as something more abstract? more human? The Phainon is Phanes theory [That guy from Honkai - i only know Sunday and Aeons]

They knew about you and that you created Teyvat, but no matter what they did, they couldn't erase you from irminsul without also fully erasing Teyvats foundation
so they begrudgingly left your legacy alone and worked on spreading their own ideals to no promising avail
so they hitched the plan to create the 'Creator' epithet for you and masquerade themselves as your prophets/emissaries
taking different well-known parts of your existence; the screen system, your court of Dragon Sovereigns, your ability to create the world around you, and remixed them for their own purposes
A prominent part being the rules developed for the akedemiya, coming from the Heavenly Principles and their shades to ensure the humans follow them obediently
Interfering with human evolution
dictated by Asmoday and her Keepers presiding over the Temple of space as from the quote from Melanta - 'This place is only to preserve. All innovation, all evolution, is forbidden here' and explains why Melanta kept on rejecting or exiling different residents like maukie/Escher [Yes, the actual Escher that Dottore disguised himself as when he dissapeared from the Scaramouche backstory quest. he's now roaming the world again so im sure thats going to pop up and fuck with wanderer.]

Made bc of the remaining outlanders trapped in Teyvat [like Sovereigns, Skirk, Zhongli, Miliastra Wonderland twins, Hexenzirkle, etc] keep popping up and disrupting their order

Inability to understnad non-Teyvat words and phrases [Aether and Lumine having to learn common Teyvatian from Paimon pre-game start. Wanderers name you give him not being spoken verbally but still exists in a written compacity] in an attempt to keep the world at a manageable level where the remaining abysal presences is kept stable and the lightnlevels match them, neither getting too scaled one way or another [Why the Heavenly Principles and the shades dont do shit to get rid of the abyss' presence nor fully commit to the destruction of dragons]
Revering gods without acts of devotion
To restrict, picking and choosing which gods get favour, being prayed to/worshiped or revering a god and their names has reasonable cause to influence how strong said god becomes [Ventis statement that hes the 'weakest' out of the archons etc.]
Attempting the forbidden and fearing none
Istaroths warning to the humans, telling them to be wary and not tempt fate, her powers relating closely to the trilunar authority over time and being able to plant seeds in the past to fruit in the future [Inazumas sakura tree, Dandelion seeds through time speech Venti gives]
these when looked at with the context of the Heavenly principles presenting them changes the intension alot. they become more threatening
The shades are complicated figure with scraps of lore so they're still being developed - but they're not black and white evil stereotypes [no one is in all depictions]

Looking between Paimon and Aether it was clear as to who was going to be deciding what was for dinner tonight, the fire crackled in the center of our camp while Paimon's defiant cries attempted to smother it.
“But Traveller - That giant Juicy boar we caught today would be the best to go with the vegetables we just gathered. Wouldn't you agree that's the better option, no?” Paimon asked, floating to his other side and prodding the blonde
“Mhn” Aethers brow furrows as he looks like he's contemplating Paimons suggestion “...well it would be a nice reward to have after this week...”
“See!” Paimon excited squeals “So we shall have steak tonight! Ohhhhh tender, salt grilled and pepper-crusted!”

Paimon whips around to look at you, just as you lift your head hearing your name being said

She perks up as she lifts her head “O-oh wait, that smells good, actually-”
Paimon leaves Aether and twirls around you instead, leaning over your shoulder and peering into the pot in front of you
“Brisket? Is that what you said this was?” She asks “It looks just like plain ol’ stew!”
“Kind of, yeah” You answer, knife settling off to the side as you lift the chopping board up to push the chopped vegetable into the broth then covering it with a lid “It’d be ready soon, i actually started it a while ago so the meat should be just about tender to pull apart and mix, its just waiting on these vegetables now…”
“Really?- But we just got back from gathering all that boar meat”
Paimon's voice faded into the background as the afternoon soon drifted to night. Days continued like this as the three of you settled into the nation of Anemo, camping beneath the statue of seven within the middle of Starfell Lake

Kneeling down before the first bunch of flowers that grew against the lakes edge you begin your daily ritual, slowly inching further from the sleeping adventurers in pursuit of gathering as much as you could of all the flora and fauna in the area. The world seems to function similarly to how it did in game, or it could be that the world was simply magically inclined, allowing plants to grow at a hastened pace
Windwheel asters, Calla Lillies, Sunsetias, and Dandelion seeds collected. Hillichurls and Slimes avoided as they snoozed. And chests opened after being uncovered or dug out of their rocky or spiked enclosures
Really, this place feels more like a dream than reality. A really fucked up dream.

“Ugh-” She groans “Why couldn't we just do more exploring? There's dozens of places where the treasure hunters missed”
“Or are currently guarding” I pipe in, holding my arms out to her “But we can also say the same about Dragonspine. There's a lot of places left unexplored there too”
She shivers before flying closer, letting me wrap my own scarf - well, it's more like a blanket on her- around her form and letting her settle onto my shoulder and hold onto my furred coat
“Readers right, Paimon” Aether says from up ahead “We’re here for that too- the commission asks us to investigate a strange phenomenon that's occurring on the mountain, strange ice formations have been occurring that we need to clear”
“Is that why we brought Master Diluc with us?” She groans, turning to face the man “Why did you agree to come anyway”
Diluc grunts from behind the two of us, looking like he’d rather not be here in the first place.
“Elzer said our suppliers here were having issues with Fatui, so I've come to fix it. It was just convenient that we crossed paths and are heading the same way”
“Ooooh so you don't want to travel with us” Paimon says “Well- that's good, that means we don't have to share food with you then!”
Paimon yelps and wobbles on my shoulder as I decide to jump “Heeey! Reader! Stop it!”
“Paimon, that's not nice” Aether pipes in “We have enough for everyone, including Master Diluc”

This is actually from the original first draft of Self-indulgence... it was going to go very differently to what it is now. the reason it changed was because i started writing the middle [what turned into the fic now] and realised the start did not match up, hahah...

“Aether, come here.” he turns to face me “i just want to check something.”
He pulls a face
“Its nothing bad” I say with a sigh
“You said that last time, and you dunked me into the river” he utters with a grimace expression but still wanders over
“Thats because you smelt like shit.” I say flatly “hurry up.”
“I'm coming, im coming geez” he repeats, leaning against a large upturned root
I hold out my hand to his chest, seeing the golden halo that surrounds his body become brighter, a white strip forming along my fingers
“I don't know what you're doing” he says confused “am I supposed to like, puff my chest ou-gk”
He lurches as I grasp it, pulling it out from his chest, the glow fades leaving a book in my hands
“wh..?” he drawls out
I lean back with it, letting it open and unravel in my open palm. The world around us seemingly disappears as a teal like film and dandelions fill the bottom of our vision
My screens blinking to life beside me, while Aether looks around confused under a spotlight
“Reader?” His voice is quiet, soft, confused.
“can you not see me?”
“no- er, I don't think so” he twirls around in place “there is this, like, mist covering your face and you're not wearing the same outfit you were just a moment ago”
“Can you see the screens beside me?”
His eyes flicker away from my face, then nod
“What is this?”
I stand and walk closer, smiling as he doesn't back away. I held out one of the screens to him so he could see “I found these books in the library, something about being able to upgrade or assist in a person's abilities.”
“That's incredible!” his eyes light up “so this is an ability available within Teyvat?”
“well” I hesitate “not particularly”
“huh, so what is this ability, I've never seen anything like this before” his hands go through the screen as he reaches toward it
“Lisa led me toward the section they have devoted to the gods of this world. I figured if you were able to resonate with the statue of seven, you'd resonate with this, too.” I shrug “this God had coveted the ability to ascend their accolades and gift enhancements only special to this world”
“so you just decided to try this out yourself” he asks incredulously
“The thing is, the book was saying in reference to this god felt too specific. They had magical screens, and I have magical screens. They have the ability to only be perceived by those with special sight, and half of mondastat don't think I exist even when I stand in front of them.”
He shakes his head “what's this god called anyway”
“its that ‘The Creator’ one that Lisa told us about which is kind of odd-” i start, pausing when Aether snaps his face in my direction again
“The Creator- as in, the universal designer and eternal monarch of divinity, Aeon of Permanence ‘Creator’"
I look back to the notes I took “uhhh yeah, I think that's one of the titles used for him. THEM? you mentioned an Aeon actually, sorry…”
“that-” I take my hand, pulling him forwards “you’re the Cre-”
I cover his mouth “no. We are not doing this right now.”
He paws at my hand, ripping it off “Creator.”
“er! wrong.” I poke my tongue at him, ignoring that he can't even see my face right now “same powers, different people.”
“but-”
“no, trust me, if these guys were worshipping me, I would feel it.” I say tiredly “the titles are close, yeah, but that ain't me.”
“but you're a… god?” he says hesitantly
“...Yeah sure, let's go with that.” I cringe “I did not create this world, the grass beneath your feet nor the air you breathe, im literally just like you bud”
He doesn't look convinced
“would your Creator push you into a lake after telling you you smell like shit”
He deflates and lets go of my hand “...alright, fair.”
“Great, now let me ascend you.”
He throws up his hands “seriously, if I were anyone else, I would not believe you.”
“Well excuse me, do you want to be able to fight the hypostasis?”
“admit you're a god.”
“I am not a god.”
He makes a face “I don't believe you”
“You're unbelievable.” I say dryly, conjuring forward the few materials he needs to ascend “I thought you didn't even believe in this God?”
He shrugged, “you made it sound cool.”
I rolled my eyes, holding out my palm, the mora floating out of the sachet on my hip to swirl around him. Slowly, the other item began lifting, a golden light enveloping each of the pieces before shooting at Aether and sinking into his skin

“You injected me with a rock, y- that was real mora!”

Heres the bottom 12 squares without the deathsquares on top. The first 6 are all individual unique segments from our normal set, 4/5-ish of which are from the 6.6 update, aka. 18 [square 1], 25 [square 6], 34 [Square 3], 45 [square 4], and 65 [square 5] - 8 and 35 are still alive as Zeta and Beta.
that last set of 6, however, are not really segments but a visual progression of our dearest Zandik over the years with a death stare. since his release, I've been thinking of him a lot
Segments have the earrings - Zandik does not. The [Masterlist] has been updated to reflect the changes. All segments can be asked about including the 'dead'. The format maaaay be different to normal with them, though.
The only segment that had been affected by the update is Prime for obvious reasons, but I've worked with it - the new cheatsheet will fix it. because of the increased number of segments, i will be extra diligent with their colour coding

Do you think the segments held their own "welcome to the harbingers" ceremonies, seeing as it was a form of adding new members to his family? Do you think some of Dottores segments never stopped doing these events even when the others ire of him grew? Do you think Dottore had grown affected by his empty nest?
