Regina never should've let Emma come anywhere close to this. Her magic wasn't trained enough, even if she had more will to survive than a cockroach.

There was a portal in the barn where Zelena had failed to set hers up. And Emma had just fallen through it.

"Damn it, Swan." Regina hissed, reluctantly letting go and letting herself fall in to the portal.

The portal spit her out on the ground somewhere in a forest. Regina pushed herself up and looked around, spotting Emma brushing the dirt off of herself.

"I'm assuming we're not in Storybrooke anymore." Emma muttered.

Regina looked around, her blood running cold when she spotted the paper pinned to a tree. Snow White. For crimes against the Queen. Murder. Treason. Treachery. The papers she herself had ordered to be plastered around the kingdom, over three decades ago.

"For once, I think you might be right." Regina sighed.

Emma looked up, following her gaze. "I don't remember Marty McFly being in Henry's storybook" the blonde snorted.

"This is nothing like Back to the Future." Regina muttered. "That movie was idiotic, and it made no sense."

Emma huffed. "It clearly made some sense." she gestured to the situation at hand. Before Regina could correct her, she heard a loud sound.

The loud whinny of a horse made Regina hold her hand up, signaling Emma to be quiet. There were atleast several horses on a road close by, and Regina pushed Emma and herself against a tree to remain hidden.

"Regina, what the—"

"Shh!"

When the sound stopped, she grabbed Emma's arm, sneaking closer to the road. There was a village beyond the shrub, and she crouched down behind some bushes. Knights in black armor and cloaks surrounded the people of the village, lining them up.

"We have to get out of here." Regina mumbled. "Now."

A black carriage pulled up behind the Her heart stopped in her chest. It was too late. The door swung open and herself of the past, the Queen, climbed out.

"Oh." Emma whispered. Regina looked over to see her jaw literally dropped open, her eyes glued to the Queen. Regina really didn't want to delve into that now of all times, that the savior was attracted to her past self—and, it stood to be reasoned, it might carry onto her current self, but there was a time and a place to think about that and it definitely wasn't right now.

Regina couldn't be sure that her past self wouldn't just kill her, not believing her to be her real future self, and how badly it could mess up the timeline. If the Queen ever learned of who Emma was, she would surely not let Emma live, or perhaps even change events to make sure Emma was never born in the first place, meaning Henry would never be born. It was crucial that they were not seen by the Queen.

Regina had never seen herself from an outside perspective like this. With the same fear she'd instilled into her people. Well. She could understand Emma's reaction.

Wait. What? She shook the thought away. Regina was not checking herself out. She will kill us. Emma. Henry. Think of Henry. Stop staring at—

"That's you." Emma whispered, dumbly.

"Thank you, Emma, I hadn't noticed." she grumbled.

"I didn't know you were so.."

They could not be having this conversation right now. Regina glared at the blonde. "Can you please stop lusting after my past self right now?" As if you're not doing the same thing, a traitorous voice in her head whispered.

Emma opened her mouth to protest, but Regina covered her mouth with her hand. She heard the Queen threatening the people, and noticed the woman with a bag over her head in her knights clutches.
