Jaren can't resist the amused grin at his friend's sense of humor. It doesn't even bother him in the slightest that Maxie that just starts walking off. What most people don't understand is that they actually have one of the best friendships in Hiraeth because theirs is never boring! He follows after Maxie, like the man clearly intended him to. "Wait up! I'm about to head to lunch. Come with me." He'd meant to say it as a question instead of a demand, but he's momentarily distracted by reading a text message.

Jaren hasn’t seen one of his favorite people in too long, which is odd! Normally, he sets up all of the times the two of them hang out by showing up at Maxie’s place or at his bar. It’s the best method because he knows Maxie loves to be surprised. Except, when he’d gotten distracted with helping plan a birthday party and a wedding, Maxie hadn’t surprised him recently! He must have been *so* busy. Jaren’s decided to surprise him again, managing to bump into Maxie just as he’s leaving his place. “Maxie! Tell me how much you’ve missed me,” he teases.
