So I've been working on my thad fic for a while and one of the main things that will be a big part of every character Thad will meet in his journey (that is major) all represent a major arcana in the tarot motif of the Fools journey, this will be a list of every character in thad's journey and the arcana they represent in his story, The fools journey might go into other fics but Thad is the one I think fits the most also one more thing every character here represents both Upright and upside down also

Oh so it was on purpose? This makes my brain tingle even more and I like how because he literally hadn’t seen him after the explosion of the original agenda base he just assumes that’s still how Kon acts. Love details like that!
And like you can really tell that it’s not Kon in the way match acts and the twos different definitions of what being a leader is basically.
Kon while in the beginning may have wanted to the leader role, I feel like he eventually found a steady place in young justice as a team member and from what it looks like he was fine with that. Along with that if you read superboy 94 #73 and you read the ending panels you see that guardian actually thinks he’s grown to have leader quality’s of his own which based on the progression oh his character, it’s something that he earned with his own maturity. You can see it in the way he carried himself during the evil factory incident and sometimes even before that! He helps make plans and is actually quick thinking under stressful situations , puts himself in danger over others, supports his friends, and overall tries his best to keep his composure despite thinking that his close friend had died for a second as just ONE example out of that arc! And like I said you can see in the way he carries himself, he never says he IS a leader but instead he’s dubbed one by someone who plays a major role in not only Cadmus but in the world of superhero’s as a whole which is Guardian.
With match though he’s a more impulsive a wild card if you will. With match he doesn’t think before he acts a lot of the time, he provokes his teammates, and most of all he has this air of arrogance that makes him think he should be the one in charge. And I’m not saying that to insult him I’m just stating facts. Match is someone who hasn’t had the chance to mature or even interact with people his age (or really people at all besides Agenda) and with the timeline he only recently took Kon’s place after from what I believe being with the Agenda the entire time after that explosion. He doesn’t have the experience with working as a team with others or any of the other things that would qualify him to be a leader and instead ends up driving him and young justice deeper into potential harm by making rash decisions that if he took the time to think on would probably decide against. Also it’s in the way he acts where it seems like he cares little about the other young justice members; and I know he technically isn’t one but I feel the need to point out him smacking Red tornado out of the sky and not feeling anything about it. He carries this notion that leaders are supposed to be tough and nothing else when that’s not true and sure that’s something Kon would think in an earlier point in his life but it’s not something he’d think now with again the experiences and lessons he’s accumulated through living and learning with others around him.
Honestly I think the contrast between the two is an interesting way to show growth of character. Also I’d like to add that while yes Kon can still be impulsive I feel like his version is more subdued than match’s because again different experiences.
Reading yj98 and knowing that that lil boy isn’t Kon but match is like being in a constant state of “he would not fucking say that.” Like stop the defamation campaign I’m begging you; you guys don’t even know how much second hand embarrassment and shame I get from reading these fuck ass panels like RELEASE ME.
