Hey. My plague doctor mask keeps fogging up and I can't see through the eyes. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep it from doing that?
1. Installing a battery-powered fan inside the mask (a la paintball players and storm trooper cosplayers)
2. Manually adding holes around the lenses (or upper parts of the beak) to help rising moist, warm air vent out (since warm air rises)
3. Apply some sort of defogger to the lenses (such as a spray designed for motorcycle helmets/ iâve also seen people claim that using a soap+water mixture, polishing the surface with it and allowing it to dry helps)
4. Take slower and deeper breaths so that the lenses do not fog as fast
5. Replace the glass or plastic lenses with a see-through mesh material
HOW TO USE CLIPPING MASKS (IN TERMS OF EDITS/GRAPHICS)Â
this is basically in informational/tutorial post on how to use clipping masks in terms of edits and things like promos, background graphics, icons, etc. ( EXAMPLE IMAGE HERE ) You can use this for anything; though i made it in mind when thinking of rp related resources! THIS TUTORIAL IS A 7 STEP GUIDE AND USES PHOTOSHOP. It helps if you already have a basic understanding of photoshop! You can always check out my photoshop basics guide post on my blog!

~~ Clipping masks are what a lot of people use because of the âauto-selectâ feature in photoshop.  Basically you use this to make a selection of pretty much whatever you want - if you have something in a layer that you want to make a selection of, you can hold down command (or control if you are using a pc), and âclickâ on that said layer, and it will make a selection around that specific thing youâve got on that layer!  Thats when you can click your âadd layer maskâ button at the bottom of your layers panel, and it will create a mask on that layer, or a group of whatever. ~~~ (also make sure your auto selection box is ticked when you are holding down command/control and that your drop down menu is on âlayerâ and not âgroupâ)
1. so, for this walkthrough, im going to be using some shapes i normally wouldnât for a promo - just to exaggerate what i am trying to get across with shapes and clipping masks! To start, i like to make a dark background layer in photoshop so that if i use borders at the end of my edit, i can easily see them. Right now my screen looks like this:
2. I highly reccommend you download some custom shapes, because that is how a lot of editors/icon-creators make some fun icon shapes or promo shapes in their edits. For my specific edit, I found a triangle I wanted to use for my main image, and I put that on the my screen, over my background. You could also just draw something in a new layer, or use the selection tool/fill tool to make an object on the screen - you dont HAVE to use the shape tool. My screen looks like this:
3. Now that iâve got my shape up, i make a new group (bc im going to fill this with my image that i want in this specific triangle shape). After iâve made a new group, I hover over my triangle shape and I hold down command and I âclickâ on that triangle shape (in the layers panel - not on the canvas itself). Also, make sure that when you are clicking, you are clicking on the image icon, not the layer name - it wonât create a selection if you click the layer name. Â
 If you do this correctly, you should get those dashed/dotted selection lines around your triangle shape. MAKE SURE YOU DONâT CLICK AWAY or deselect this. While youâve got the dotted selection lines, click on the group we created in the layers panel - and then select your âadd layer maskâ button(located in the bottom of your layers panel, next to the âfxâ button) . This should create a triangle clipping mask on our group, so that everything in that group stays within your triangle shape! My screen now looks like this:
4. This is where you can add an image! I just open a new image in photoshop, and drag it into this document we are working on. Make sure that you put your image in the group we made, because that will ensure it stays within the triangle shape! My screen looks like this:
5. You can stop here if you know enough, otherwise iâll do one more shape/clipping mask for an image i want overtop of the triangle. This is where all those custom shapes come in handy! I want a painted looking overlay image, so i go into my shapes and choose the one i want. Make a new shape (not in our previous group), and make it however you want; my screen looks like this:
6. After iâve made my new shape - its just a repeat of the original process we did for the triangle: make a new group; hold down command (or control) and click on your new shape layer, select your second group, and hit the layer mask button! Then of course, add your second image to that group, and it will be contained within your new shape clipping mask! My screen looks like this:

7. This is where you could add some strokes/borders to your groups to make them stand out. I went along, and made a new triangle shape underneath these to make a dashed border; but thatâs just personal preference. Feel free to customize your creations however youâd like!
