“Eh?”

Without meaning to, ‘Maria’ flinched at the sound of Iona’s voice, blinking rapidly as the girl spoke to her. Of course, the person inside of Maria’s body was not Cure Tender herself, but rather, Phantom. The two of them had agreed that they would keep the swap a secret from Iona, knowing that the girl would very likely try and kill Phantom if she found out the truth.

As much as he didn’t want to admit it, Maria had a point. It was strange watching his own body speak to him, stranger still than he thought it would be. Considering his appearance as Phantom wasn’t even his original form, he thought perhaps that would take the edge off things at least a little- but apparently he was wrong.

Well, he had spent the last three hundred years in that body, as opposed to his actual fairy form, so he had gotten pretty attached to it.

‘Maria’s’ shoulders slumping somewhat as Phantom took her advice and calmed down somewhat, he allowed himself to be lead to the nearest bench. It was strange, being led by his own body- for once, he noticed how tall he was in that form.

Speak of the devil!

‘Maria’ flinched as someone called out the woman’s name, and it was all Phantom could do to prevent his nervousness showing on his- or well, Maria’s- face. Turning around to face the girl who had called out to Maria, he put the best smile he could on the woman’s face.

...wait a second, what exactly had she just asked?

He could only imagine what the Precure could be up to in his body- given what he had learned of Maria’s personality since they had stopped fighting each other (at least outside of a friendly match every now and again), there was more than enough cause for concern. Without a doubt, she was probably snooping around his room as they spoke- and there were some things even Phantom wanted to keep private!

She was probably in the Omori Lunch Shop- that’s where he had fallen asleep, after all. Taking care to at least get Maria’s body out of her pajamas and somewhat freshened up, he quickly headed out of the Hikawa dojo, before anyone could spot him.

When Phantom found himself waking up in the Hikawa home, for a moment, he thought perhaps he had traded places with Iona again.

It only took a second for him to determine that circumstances were much worse than that. No, instead of Cure Fortune, the person he had swapped bodies with this time was none other than her older sister, Cure Tender, the Precure whom he had battled against regularly until he had managed to trap her inside of a mirror.
