Tsubasa blinked after noticing the way that Phantom was grinning. This man was far from the fearsome Precure Hunter that he was a few months ago. Tsubasa smiled back at him.
“Where is Mirage right now? Did she leave with God?” Tsubasa asked. She didn’t know the exact reasons behind Blue’s departure, but they had to be good ones, right? Although she didn’t really get to know him, Pikarigaoka felt different without him.
“You don’t know?” Phantom blinked, mildly surprised. But that’s right- this girl wasn’t a part of the Happiness Charge Precure, and as far as he was aware, the only thing the rest of the Precure knew was that god had left the planet for the moment. Many of them didn’t even know that Mirage had been purified.
“Yes, she’s gone with the deity of earth.” There was a slightly sour tone to Phantom’s voice as he spoke of Blue, but it quickly vanished. “After being separated from him for so long, I’m sure that she didn’t want to spend anymore time away from him.”
The Precure Hunter (Open RP)
Cure Dream had that coming, she knew. It was a chance she took, and it had failed. She was blasted back by Phantom. She saw it coming, so she was able to recover easily.
Dream stood tall in front of Phantom. Her muscles tensed, but wasn’t neither in a defensive or offensive stance.
“It’s never too late! We can reach an understanding now! Together! And I’m sure that’s not the only thing Mirage wants! She probably has hopes and dreams herself! Or if she doesn’t, we can change that! This world is beautiful and you and Mirage need to see it! Not destroy it!”
So she didn’t intend to back down no matter what- Phantom could glean that much by the girl’s posture alone. How many Precure had he fought in the past who had done the same thing?
Well, in the end, he had more respect for those girls who gave their all to fighting, than those who plead for lives and tried to run away. Even if they were weak, those Precure who gave it their all on the battlefield- he couldn’t entirely despise them.
“Do not speak of what Mirage-sama wants! You understand nothing!” Phantom’s eyes narrowed, flashing an intense blue. “Her only remaining dream is to see this world annihilated... to watch that foolish God suffer in despair!”
Shifting on his right foot, Phantom closed the distance between himself and Dream, angling his sword to slash downwards at her.
Chou watched quietly as her father took a pepper out of the cabinets and washed it, before finally handing it to her. It was a rather small pepper and she suspected he’d chosen it on purpose, but it was better than nothing.
“Okay.” The little girl nodded at Phantom’s words, then took the pepper from his hands, biting off a bit of it. As soon as she did so her eyes lit up, and when she was done eating she smiled brightly, clearly delighted. “Delicious! It’s really delicious!” With that, Chou put what was left of the pepper in her mouth at once.
“Do you think I could have another? Please?” She asked after finishing.
She liked it.
More than that, she had loved it, and was asking for another, a bright smile gracing her face. For a stern faced girl like Chou, that was something of a rarity- and Phantom completely ate it up for all that it was worth. After all, it wasn’t often that she depended on her father like this, looking at him with such shining eyes!
“Of course you can, Chou! Anything for my favorite little butterfly!” Phantom quickly prepared another pepper for the young girl, handing it over.

♝ holding hands
“Did you learn any new moves today, Tamako?”
Phantom glanced down at his smallest daughter, as she bundled herself up in her coat and scarf. The air outside was chilly, and she only had her practice outfit on- so she needed to make sure she was extra toasty! Stooping down to help her adjust her hat, Phantom lightly patted her head, before standing back up.
“Why don’t we stop at the bakery on the way home and pick up something to surprise everyone?” Extending his hand, Phantom took Tamako’s much smaller hand in his own, carefully holding it.

☮ stroking/ruffling hair
“I heard you’ve got a tournament coming up, Chou.” The soft expression on Phantom’s face was something that people outside of his children and Mirage rarely got to see- as well as the fond smile he wore. “If you let me know what day it’s on, I can make you a special bento.”
Reaching down, Phantom couldn’t help but lightly ruffle the former Dark Cure’s hair, unable to resist this fatherly urge. Even if Chou was the least affectionate of the Dark Cures towards him, it didn’t mean he had to act the same way!

Tamachi? Was that a nickname for Tamako? Considering that Mayu seemed to have nicknames for everyone, that was possible. Tsubasa remembered meeting Tamako recently. Coincidentally, it also happened to be her birthday.
“Ah, so Tamako-chan is your sister? It must be nice to have siblings!” Tsubasa blurted out. She gave Mayu a small smile. Admittedly, being an only child meant that Tsubasa didn’t have to split her parents’ attention with anyone. However, she felt that she missed out on some things by not having siblings.
“Yes, she’s my little sister!” Mayu nodded her head, her smile only growing as she thought of her younger sibling. “Even though she looks like that she’s the second oldest out of five siblings! I, myself, am the oldest, of course.” She told Tsubasa, placing a hand on her chest as if she were proud of this fact.
“They’re a whole bunch of trouble in their own ways, those four, but well, if someone were to mess with them, I’d beat them up real good!”

16- punch in the face
He had this coming. He already understood this much.
Still, he had definitely underestimated how much force Cure Fortune’s punch would contain, especially now that she was not in the form of her legendary warrior self, but was simply the normal girl, Hikawa Iona. Even if she was a karate black belt, she was still only fourteen years old, so the sheer force of her punch was surprising.
Perhaps it was powered by two years of pent up frustration.
“...do you feel a little better now, Cure Fortune?”

For some reason, seeing Cure Unlovely get so excited only served to make Iona’s bad feeling worse, and she very nearly physically flinched. She was probably doing the other girl an injustice, especially when she’d resolved to give her a chance, but it wasn’t something that she could shake off that easily.
“Ah, my groceries? Don’t wo -” She began belatedly, her train of thought abruptly broken, but couldn’t go any further before Unlovely took her bags and unceremoniously made them disappear into thin air, without even giving her time to gasp.
All the purple haired girl could do for a few moments was blink in surprise, but she quickly recovered enough to give her newest and probably most unfortunate acquaintance a stern glare. “ You shouldn’t do things like that in public, you know. Someone could’ve seen it.” She noted, now glancing around to make sure none of the other costumers were paying attention to them.
“Geez, you’re too strict, Iona-chan.” Mayu pouted, folding her arms in front of her chest. “What’s wrong with using the powers I was given? It’s not like there’s any problem if anyone sees anyways, it’s not like they ever saw me fight in this form or anything. They only knew the Precure Hunter, and not Cure Unlovely, after all.”
“You’re overthinking things, Iona-chan.” Mayu said, as she all but looped her arm with the other girl’s, a playful grin appearing on her face. “Now, now, let’s go! There’s cake to be eaten at the park, and after that it’s karaoke!”
“Ahhh I’ve been wanting to try karaoke for awhile now, actually! But it doesn’t sound fun by myself, and Mirage-sama is still confused by something as basic as the house phone, so I don’t think she’d have fun at all... So I’m glad I ran into you, Iona-chan!”

You Are Your Own Worst Enemy (Literally)
“I wish I knew.” Iona could only say, heaving a deep sigh as well. She raised Phanphan’s hand, as if to run it through her hair in a nervous gesture, then recalled that this was impossible at the moment. Despite how strange and self aware being in someone else’s body made her feel, sometimes she forgot that it was even happening and thought things were the same as always, only to be quickly proved wrong. “I’ll deck them if I ever find out,” she added after a moment, letting Phanphan’s hand fall back down.
“Oh, Mirage-san is out for a while? That’s good to know, though it’s kind of incovenient that God went with her…” She trailed off and heaved a sigh. As per usual, Blue had the worst timing possible. Honestly, for the deity of Earth, he wasn’t all that impressive.
“I guess you do have a point. Being a god didn’t stop him from making up a ridiculous rule about not falling in love, and he really lacks in sensivity as a whole… Not to mention his unbuttoned shirt.” She agreed quite eagerly with Phantom, at least until the last part, when she realized that she might’ve said a little too much. “I mean, it’s terribly unprofessional to say the least.” She added, Phanphan’s cheeks flushing in a light pink.
“Well, I am happy that she’s getting to go out like this.” Phantom added after a moment. Of course he was happy that Mirage was happy, but even so, he wasn’t ready to forgive than troublesome deity just yet! And seeing the two of them so lovey-dovey together so often... sometimes it was more than he could take.
“But you’re right. In retrospect, this is worst possible timing.” Phantom sighed again, Iona’s head dropping down somewhat as she walked. “And there’s no need to apologize. Honestly, I’ve been wondering about that shirt for awhile now. Back in the day, he used to wear proper God robes, and I guess...”
Phantom trailed off then, a hint of pink rising to Iona’s cheeks now as her purple eyes darted away a bit. “...It looked good on him. For someone like Blue, I guess.”
“A-anyways, we should try and figure out how to return to normal, and quickly!”

Maybe that lecture was uncalled for. Tsubasa didn’t like upsetting people and the former Precure Hunter was no exception. She really should have thought before she spoke. What could she possibly understand about him? She didn’t know what it was like to value one person above everyone else.
“…Sorry if I upset you.” Tsubasa said, looking away from Phantom. “All you can do is do your best, right? If it makes you feel any better, I have nothing against you. You’re a really nice person.”
When she became a Precure, she accepted that there was always a chance that she could encounter Phantom. A while ago, the encounter would almost certainly have ended with her being trapped in a mirror. She never really thought about how her family would feel about her unexplained disappearance.
“No, there’s no need to apologize.” Phantom was quick to say, finally looking up at Tsubasa, giving her a meek grin. “You’re right, after all, and it wasn’t that uncalled for, really.”
“I did some horrible things, and I can except it if not every Precure can forgive me. I put them through troubling and tough times, and put their families through such times as well, so I shouldn’t be forgiven that easily, whatever my reason are. I’ve come to accept that.”
“But thank you.” His meek grin grew somewhat at her words of praise. “I’m glad you think so.”

Oh. That made sense. Tsubasa smiled softly at the other girl.
“I’m sorry we never really had a chance to talk before this, Mayuyu. I guess I just have trouble approaching some people…”
“Oh, the shy type, huh? You’re just like Tamachi, then!” Mayu said, her grin not fading, as if it were a permanent fixture on her face. “Don’t worry about, don’t worry about it, I know all about that type! After all, my cute little sister is like that, so I understand, I understand!”
Folding her arms in front of her chest, the redhead nodded sagely. “What’s important is that now we can become the best of friends now that we’ve talked, Saachin!”
