Beyond a simple #lable, #names are a condensed packet of #communication, of being, of #energy, of #selfimage, almost #magickal things, like a #sigil of pure #words. I've written about #names quite a lot in the #blog lately. You can read the whlle ramling thing there if you want (link in the bio of corse) #TaoCraftTarot is a new name for me, a renewal of #authenticity combined with greater fullness of expression. It reflects my #resonace with #Taoist philosophy, #Tarot, #magic craft and plain old #make stuff #arts and #crafts #craft. This name does't directly reflect #meditation #tutorials or #Reiki, but they are presant in a way they weren't under the old #ModerOracleTarot name. The core of the old names are still here as well. Modern Oracle was inspiredby the #Oracle character in the movie #TheMatrix, a literal icon of the combination of #science, #spirituality and a practical contemporary #downtoearth USE-able #advice. That is still very much there, just more balanced with a slightly more arcane and darker #aesthetic. My beloved two owls logo came from the original #etsyshop name #QuirkAndFlotsam. The #etsy offshoot was a way to introduce my #mala #making, #penandink #tarotreadings, and a way to use #jewelry / #knitting #project #leftovers. The #shop is still the #quirky #random collection of stuff that inspired the first name and the two owls. The bigger one is Quirk...you get the idea. I've always liked owls, and consider them a #totem of sorts. My daughter likes them too, so it kind works on that level...homage to my time as a stay at home #mom with my beautiful daughter and my forever #gratitude to my wonderful and super talented husband @jonbsnowmusic It's a long story, but I wasn't kidding about being fascinated by the story behind names (businesses, bands, books, songs...you, well, name it!) That doesn't always make the best #business model. How do you #communicate what you do, #market your stuff and hopefully #earn what you need if you don't have a clear #vision of your #productrange ? That particular thing has been a challenge for me over the years as someone who offers both somewhat #unusual things to start with...but also in a #quirky unususal combination too. That's why I used to call the #etsyshop #QuirkAndFlotsam. Getting the whole mess organized in my #mind was a key to rebranding everything coherantly under #TaoCraftTarot. It's a classic combination of goods and services. On the tangible #stuff side, I #make #meditation #mala #beads, #jewelry #upcycled from castoffs and leftovers, and #pen and #ink illustrated on real #paper sent-by-snail-mail "Sigil Inkmagick" #TarotReadings. The services side is devided into two parts, in-person and distance. In-person includes #IndividualTarot and #PartyTarot in the #SouthHills of #Pittsburgh, plus meditation tutorials, small group workshops. Distance includes #Tarot by email or video and distance #Reiki using #crystals as an embellishment. I call it "Sending Stones Reiki" and you can read more about that on thecwebsite, link in bio of course. #creativity hungers for #diversity. A product line can provide that through multiple catagories, or through wide variety within a given category. When it comes to writing, you can't really get up close detail. If you've seen one keyboard, you've pretty much seen them all. Same for #Tarot. The granular #detail of a reading is the #private details, and I'm super strict about protecting privacy in my readings. Like medical grade strict. But that is another story. I'm still on a steep learning curve when it come to taking #pictures for the #etsyshop I'm old enough to remember trying to teach myself #35mm #photography back in the day. I unabashedly love how easy phones/tablets and #filters have made it. #noshame about using them all the time. Just like before, though, #lighting the whole ballgame.
