The Soninke people are a West African Mande-speaking ethnic group found in eastern Senegal and its capital Dakar, northwestern Mali and Fouta Djallon in Guinea, The Gambia and southern Mauritania. They speak the Soninke language, also called Maraka language, which is one of the Mande languages. Soninke people were the founders of the ancient empire of Ghana c. 750–1240 CE. Subgroups of Soninke include the Maraka and Wangara. When the Ghana empire was destroyed, the resulting diaspora brought Soninkes to Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Guinea-Bissau where some of this trading diaspora was called Wangara
Archaeological evidence suggests that the regions where Soninke people are found were inhabited in ancient times. These stone settlements were built on the rocky promontories of Tichit-Walata and the Tagant cliffs of Southern Mauritania. Though there are no surviving records to suggest which ethnic group these people were, the settlers of this region by between 2500 BCE and 600 BCE were likely related to the Soninke and greater Mande people. A significant agro-pastoral society had developed in this prehistoric era
According to Soninke oral tradition, the ancestor of the Soninke was Dinga, sometimes said to have come from the Middle East (though such a story is unlikely, as the "Middle Eastern" tag came about subsequent to the Mande converting to Islam),an addition that may reflect Abrahamic religious influence. His sons included Dyabe Sisse, the founder of the Wagadu kingdom with its capital at Kumbi.Another Soninke tradition indicates that they migrated from Aswan, Egypt.

I used to read Homestuck, it makes me cringe remeber those days haha.
امتى بييجي اليوم أنا و إنتي نتلاقى و نقعد نحكي أحكيلك عن إحساسي و تبوسيني على خدي

Worst Date vs Best Date: Maka Albarn x Marie Rose
Worst Date — The Haunted Café
Maka had chosen a quiet café where they could read, drink tea, and enjoy a peaceful afternoon.
Unfortunately, Marie had found another café advertised as “Death City’s Most Terrifying Dining Experience.”
“This place looks fun!” Marie declared.
A skeleton waiter dropped from the ceiling. Maka instinctively drew her scythe and sliced the table in half.
Marie stared at the ruined cake between them. “That was supposed to frighten us.”
“It succeeded,” Maka muttered.
Things worsened when an actor dressed as a kishin grabbed Marie’s shoulder. Marie screamed, kicked him through a decorative coffin, and sent plastic bones flying across the room.
The manager demanded payment. Maka and Marie stood outside twenty minutes later, covered in fake cobwebs.
Marie crossed her arms. “Worst date ever.”
Maka sighed. “Agreed.”
A moment passed.
“Your kick was impressive, though.”
Marie brightened. “And your table-cutting was really cool!”

Best Date — Books and Blossoms

Their second attempt began inside Death City Library.
Marie sat beside Maka, quietly sketching cartoon faces into a notebook while Maka read.
“You’re supposed to be studying,” Maka whispered.
“I’m studying you.”
Maka’s face reddened. “That doesn’t even make sense.”
Later, they walked through a small garden beneath the setting sun. Marie bought two strawberry crepes and handed one to Maka.
“No haunted actors?” Maka asked suspiciously.
“No haunted anything,” Marie promised.
They sat beneath a flowering tree, shoulders touching.
“This is much better,” Maka admitted.
Marie smiled and rested her head against Maka’s shoulder. “Does that mean I get another date?”
Maka carefully opened her book to hide her blush.
“Only if I choose the café.”
