His and Her story
Built and ran by an old couple, who are both artists, this quaint little shop is a hidden gem full of stories waiting to be discovered.
/His story.
Mr Wang spent 15 hours a day working on the house; he designed, cleaned, built a roof and created many beautiful furniture over the period of 4 to 5 months. But this is nothing compared to the house he built in Dulan, he said.
He and his wife have retired in Dulan for its beautiful scenery but unfortunately it has become increasingly touristy over the years. After a few years, they decided to move and start a new life here instead as his wife has always been fond of Manzhou.
And he told us, the story of the wire:
Once upon a time, he was walking along the street and saw a long black piece of wire lying on the ground. It should not be there; it did not belong there, he thought. Wires, like humans and plants and all items, have feelings and should be respected too. Hence he picked it up and brought it home. Now the wire is properly framed on the wall, like a piece of beloved art that only people who have heard this story can appreciate.
