Just curious, why do you refuse to tell your therapist your names?
Because somebody in here screams âNO! DONâT YOU DARE!â every time we even think about it.Â
Weâre extremely covert. The only reason we get away with this blog is that itâs anonymous and weâve taken care to avoid disclosing anything about our real identity here.Â
Weâve been seeing our current therapist about a year and even though we were previously diagnosed with DID, we didnât tell her that or transfer our medical records, so she didnât know. I went in for therapy intending to just get help for my anxiety and depression (thinking I could somehow do that without addressing the fact that I have DID... lol).Â
After a few months of therapy she started talking about PTSD, and then CPTSD, and then âsevere dissociationâ, and then âparts of selfâ. So basically we went through the entire diagnostic process all over again. But a bunch of us are still really freaked out about talking in person about having DID.Â
Back when we were diagnosed the first time around we basically received our diagnosis and then immediately bailed on therapy because of denial. Iâm trying really hard to avoid that this time. So we are going slow and being very careful. Like instead of saying Jude we say âthe working partâ and instead of saying Hannah we say âthe brave partâ.Â
I donât know. We might give her a few names next time. Things are getting confusing. This last session we talked about 6 different parts and at least 3 of us were present in the session, so it got really confusing.Â
