An llustration work I did for Giv A Gif a project by Manikako, Hope Worldwide, TBWA\SMP, and Bench, to help children who were affected by super typhoon Haiyan that hit the Philippines back in November 2013.
Children were traumatized during the devastating typhoon that claimed thousands upon thousands of lives, and the power of a single toy can help give them  a sense a normalcy. Giv A Gif is a website containing over a hundred animated Gifs for sale, each one equivalent to a real Manikako Dollmaking Kit. Whenever a Gif is bought, a real doll is sent to a child in Tacloban, the area in the Philippines most affected by the deadly storm.

âGift of Lifeâ is a film about an old robot and a beautiful doll, directed by A/F Benaza for Manikako, and sponsored by Energizer.
Manikako is a Filipino organization that teaches children how to make their own dolls from old clothes and recycled materials. It offers free doll-making workshops to less-fortunate Filipino children, helping them rediscover creativity, resourcefulness and environmental responsibilityâvalues which can help them rise above poverty.
