what abt the fact that the suspects easily have access to guns and other weapons (because their relatives are part of the police force) and they know how to use them??

what abt the fact that they might’ve been inspired by the Columbine incident because one of the suspects also wore the same shirt that the shooters wore???

and they just had to blame it on video games???

I'd rather wish that people's responses to the tragedy were more sane and ethical.

It has turned into a media circus now. People are too obsessed with rooting out the good vs. evil as if they're the legislators, the judges and the executioners. Everyone's buying into the moral panic and it's giving fodder to politicians to further their agendas. Rights of the victims and the perpetrators are being violated left and right. Journalists are using it to springboard their own fascist authoritarian views on parenting and disciplining. And it's being used by sht politicians to push forward draconian laws that only lead towards state surveillance and data privacy erosion.

It's a proof our society's failure in raising children, in treating them as actual people. We have failed our youth by having shtty negligent cops and parents that dont know how to frkin support their children. We have failed our youth feasting on their failings instead of reviewing the systemic injustice that produced this shtshow.

We are regressing as a nation and it is fucked up.

Une tragédie a frappé le lycée public San Jose de Tacloban, aux Philippines, où deux adolescents de 14 et 15 ans ont ouvert le feu dans une salle de classe, tuant trois de leurs camarades et en blessant plusieurs autres. Selon les enquêteurs, le mobile serait une vengeance liée à du harcèlement scolaire subi par les suspects. L’un des tireurs a été arrêté sur place, l’autre s’est rendu plus tard.…

Leyte summer breeze selfie

Enjoying the fresh sea air as I look upon Cancabato Bay while promenading along Sen. Francisco Abella Enage (1878-1958) street in Tacloban City, Province of Leyte.

This picture was taken circa 2021, when I was travelling around the islands of Bohol, Cebú and Leyte to visit students who could not travel to Cebú City to attend their classes due to the Wuhan Virus lockdowns.

This is the second time I visited the City of Tacloban, with the first foray being a promotional campaign of the programs of the Southwestern University PHINMA to the high school students contemplating taking their collegiate studies in Cebú City.
