The Infinite Mana Combo

Start with Gemstone Array on the field with Sol Ring and Tidesprout Tyrant, having Mana Crypt in your hand. Cast the Mana Crypt and in response, tap the Sol Ring for two colorless mana. With the Tyrant’s cast trigger, return the Ring to your hand and let the Crypt resolve. Cast Sol Ring with one of your floating two colorless mana and with the cast trigger on the stack, tap the Crypt for two colorless mana. As the Ring resolves, you now have three colorless mana floating in your mana pool. Keep the cycle going and once you’ve amassed a decent sized pool of colorless mana, start funneling the colorless mana into the Gemstone Array to convert it into colored mana of your choice!

Now with a million Storm triggers, cast Mind’s Desire... just for the Lulz.

Animar’s World Enders

With Animar as our commander, we’re gonna run an old cliche of free casting powerful Eldrazi but with Tidespout Tyrant, we have access to reusable cast triggers! No longer will we be tied down with the non-creature Cloudstone Curio! So let’s see what we can do with the Tyrant and these horrid abominations.

Assuming we have some +1/+1 counters built up on Animar, we can start with Oblivion Sower and a Beast Whisperer/Primordial Sage on the field and the Conduit of Ruin in our hand. As we cast the Conduit, we trigger a few things so we need to be careful about our staggering. Resolve the cast trigger of the Conduit first, tutoring for a colorless creature card with mana cost 7 or greater and putting it on top of our deck. Next resolve the Primordial Sage, drawing a card and putting the colorless creature we tutored into our hand. Finally resolve the Tyrant’s ability and return the Sower to our hand. By this point in the game we should have seven plus +1/+1 counters on Animar (hopefully) and we can start combo-ing off now!  Cast the Sower from our hand, drawing a card off Primordial Sage and exiling four cards off the top of our opponent’s library and putting any lands we exile into play under our control. Using Tyrant we bounce the Conduit back to our hand and just keep looping until we have all of our beaters and win cons drawn into our hand and placed on the field for free. 

My favorite combo is just looping Ulamog the Ceaseless Hunger and Oblivion Sower if you really want to make your opponents scoop and never play with you again. Mill their whole deck and exile their whole board state. Broken.

If you’re worried about counterspells or interuptions during your turn, I suggest running Dosan the Falling Leaf. He’s a great utility creature to keep control players in check and protect you from any unwanted spell interruptions. He can also eat a removal spell for you if need be. 

There are tons of other insane combos you can loop with Tidespout Tyrant but I thought I’d just list two of my favorites with you and maybe cover some others at a later date and time. Happy brewing my sweets!
